2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

If he’s not enough for a new contract then he should be fired immediately. Players down tools with lame duck managers.

With 12 months left a manager should be given a new contract or binned
Why would they choose to get relegated?

I have never really seen any players have an issue with Dyche except the weird Patterson stuff?

I don't think the players are not trying, they are just not very good and the squad has massive gaps everywhere.

The fundamental point is that players and teams are able to improve with a new manager. Some have stayed the same and even gone worse but some have improved significantly. Works both ways.

For anyone (not aimed directly at you) to suggest that there is no manager out there capable of doing better than 3 wins in 18 games with these group of players is straight up delusional.
No there absolutely is.

The group as a collective could be doing better. I don’t see any underlying performance issues with players though, that’s a big issue. We aren’t going to suddenly rebound with all these talented young players that just haven’t clicked.

How do you know that’s his only remit?
Because its fairly obvious. He was brought in to get us through a tough situation hence the short contract. He gets a chance to show what he can do (and has not took it really) but with the bonus of him being safe enough to get us to the new ground as a premier league club.

Unless we look in serious trouble (which is possible) he will be here until the end of his contract. It's a couple of months away and then we can reset with any luck.

Can’t change a full squad I’m afraid. I think most people realise that the squad is generally poor. Do you think Dyche is getting what he should out of this current crop of players?
Probably not. But he has had some bad luck with injuries.

Out of possibly 6 players to share the minutes in midfield, 3 have been injured the last few matches. The less ball you have, the harder the midfielders need to work. And we are up against teams every week with huge squads that has options from the bench. They work hard and replace their midfielders when needed. While Everton, with their ageing midfielders, need to find a way to play that makes it possible to get results while keepring Doucoure, Gana and Mangala on the pitch for 90 minutes.

With Garner, Iroegbunam and McNeil all out, Dyche becomes very restricted to what he can do.

You can blame defenders or forward players all you want, but the reality is that Everton's midfield are mostly non-existent. We get away with it when sitting back and defending low, but as soon as Everton start chasing goals in matches they become wide open defensively without creating enough offensively.

Every single match we need fresh legs as options for our midfield. We have none. We were always going to suffer over Christmas with three tough matches in a week. Pretty much all other teams have rotated their squad and rested players throughout December.

Did he really say the players failed to follow his tactics yesterday? With someone would ask what exactly they were.

Yeah same, just ask him to give an example of an instruction he gave that they apparently ignored. I know that would result in them being blacklisted by the club but it would be worth it to see his gammon face twisting inside out.

I dont remember where i read it but he mentioned he wanted them to play on the "front foot" and a couple more things in the first half.

Basically it seems like the long balls and running around aimlessly with crosses fron 40 yards out is what he wanted 1st half.

Forest have a better squad than us but not by a margin worth 20 points. They have better options off the bench and better full backs than us but other than that, they have a good cb pairing (so do we), a good attacking midfielder (so do we) and a massive bloke up top (we have a few of those). We also have one of the best, if not the best keeper in the league.

They're 20 points above us because they have been coached well, and Nuno has found a system that plays to their strengths. A system which btw is not far at all from what Dyche's brand of football is supposed to be, but is executed with the intelligence that Dyche is lacking.

Their first goal yesterday - We play that exact same long ball from the centre back up to the striker about 3000 times every week, virtually every time we have the ball it feels like we attempt to play that same pass. Despite that we never ever ending up scoring or really creating anything from those moves. Nuno understands that if you're going to pump it long to the big man, he needs to have players around him to flick the ball onto and link up with to fashion shooting opportunities.

Dyche's only priority in every match is keeping a clean sheet and keeping as many players behind the ball as possible . The squad isn't good enough, it needs investment we all know and accept this. But the severity of our inability to score goals is a consequence of his utter cowardice.

to risky to watch n wait

just get lash him to france in a skip

He's been a turnstile more often than not this season. He gets sucked up into the middle and they play it right by him. Even when he's back he's either keeping everyone on side or still isn't quick enough to see the runners and adjust.

There are others not performing to their abilities, but given his position, his drop in play is one of the biggest reasons we are where we are this season.

Id be thinking that come the summer (or sooner if we can sell Obrien in Jan) we need to replace Tarkowski and move him down to 3rd choice.

Obriens fee wasnt far off Harwood-Belis. There are a good number of centre backs around that come in, a great one at Fiorentina comes to mind.

Tomori is 27 now, not getting many games at Milan...brings a lot of pace and experience.

The unavailability of Iroegbunam does restrict options for Dyche but it’s not like he’s a starter and Dyche uses subs very late in games anyway (although he’s got a little better recent in that regard)……he could try and encourage the team to have more of the ball, as you are correct, less ball - more running and likely more injuries.

Respectfully agree to disagree, completely get we should be bottom half, where we sit in that bottom half range is subjective, but one things for certain in my mind….we should be more than 3 points clear of Leicester and 5 clear of Ipswich as we have far superior squads to them. Only being 3 points clear of the relegation place in my opinion at the half way stage, is simply under performance and really puts us under pressure.

Then you’ve got him saying they weren’t just not following his instructions in the first half, in his words they actually did the opposite. That’s startling, but having said that and then inferred they followed his instructions more closely in second half, we still conceded and did not score. If he stays on until the end of the season, my fear is that 3 point margin reduces further and puts us a at further risk, and when people say they don’t believe we will go down, he’s got form for it with Burnley, and there is no real logic to saying why we think we will be safe.
