2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

A key point is that they've all been low quality managers (Benitez less so overall but in the latter stages of his career he has been). We haven't seen this squad with a good manager and when we have seen a large contingent of them with one, they've been much better.
Which large contingent is this? I'd be interested to see an Everton XI that has took the field under a good manager that contains a 'large contingent' of the mid-Championship level players we currently have.

The last time we had a demonstrably good manager was Ancelotti. Also coincided with the last time we actually spent decent money.

It might seem a novel concept, but why can't the manager you know change tactics?

Can cry all you want about the players not being good enough to score goals, its his job to find a way to do so.

Instead of trotting out the same dull tripe he does every week of 451. Maybe just maybe change the system to provide more attacking options, regardless of their quality, having more numbers up top provides more openings.

But I already know this isn't possible as the fella hasn't got the faintest clue how to set up a team any different than what hes done since he was first given a managers job 15 years ago.

Forest have a better squad than us but not by a margin worth 20 points. They have better options off the bench and better full backs than us but other than that, they have a good cb pairing (so do we), a good attacking midfielder (so do we) and a massive bloke up top (we have a few of those). We also have one of the best, if not the best keeper in the league.

They're 20 points above us because they have been coached well, and Nuno has found a system that plays to their strengths. A system which btw is not far at all from what Dyche's brand of football is supposed to be, but is executed with the intelligence that Dyche is lacking.

Their first goal yesterday - We play that exact same long ball from the centre back up to the striker about 3000 times every week, virtually every time we have the ball it feels like we attempt to play that same pass. Despite that we never ever ending up scoring or really creating anything from those moves. Nuno understands that if you're going to pump it long to the big man, he needs to have players around him to flick the ball onto and link up with to fashion shooting opportunities.

Dyche's only priority in every match is keeping a clean sheet and keeping as many players behind the ball as possible . The squad isn't good enough, it needs investment we all know and accept this. But the severity of our inability to score goals is a consequence of his utter cowardice.

Nuno was as smart as giving us the ball, because we didn't know to do anything with 64% possession, 80% passing accuracy, while they had 68%, but 7 shots on target, while we had 2.

Forest don't play attractive football or football I think is football a usual CL spot team should play or plays, but he found a system based on good defense similar back to Wolves that makes the team very effective.

I'd say Bournemouth and Forest have the better player types to play that direct football that Dyche intends to play in general, but I also say that Iraola or Nuno would have the Everton squad in a region of Brentford in the table surely.

1:0 was their first good chance in the first half, the 2:0 their first attack in the 2nd half, after a terrible mistake by Doucoure. And I'd say we couldn't complain about 3:0 or 4:= in the end, if they scored their counters at the end of both halves.

All due respect but I think you’re off the mark here. They stayed up for years with one of the lowest budgets in the league. Not only did they qualify for Europa but they also made a good run and arguably only lost bc Forest’s heroin dealing owner had to put the screws to the refs. Either way a remarkable achievement for Burnley, let’s be real here
Made a good run of what Europe ??

Bielsa jibbed us for his own footballing purist reasons. He was probably right. Implementing his style midseason would've been a disaster.

I get that Dyche was paid too much to attend a few less gigs and dust off his old playbook.

In terms of resources however, which was your point, Dyche is not earning a relegation fodder wage.

If he were, we could afford the wage of another player

I adore Bielsa, but nope he wouldn't have been the right candidate for the material of players we had back then.

Why are some Everton fans still excusing Dyche's unbelievably appalling record managing Everton because he kept us up in 2023? No doubt he does get plaudits for that and also for dragging us through last season (points deductions etc) but let's not get too carried away last season was also a terrible start and then we went 4 months without a win, 1 win in 15. Coincidentally we also had a poor start this season and are now on 3 wins in 18. (Or 8 in 2024 or it's 8 since 16th December 2023).

But come on. Stop defending this excuse of a football manager.

Last season he got lucky because we had no one really in charge to make a decision on him. That's probably still the case although TFG have landed there's still much to sort out. TFG will have their own eyes and ears they don't need to be experts on Everton Football Club to make a footballing decision. They did this already with Roma. What needs to be said is people need to start opening their eyes and stop this constant defence of Dyche. He's a dinosaur. He's finished. He must know his time is up.

A good run in Europe? They were knocked out before September and didn’t even make the group stage 😂

(For context 48 teams were in the Europa group stages)

i give up with ANYONE now even trying to defend the what you can’t.

Yes, as I recall they beat Aberdeen and Basaksahir before losing to Olympiacos. I also remember there was some controversy bc Forest’s Bond villain owner had to go chat to the officials at half time. Make of that what you will.
Is Basaksahjr the local Indian dychey,
Stoney and waoney go to ?
