2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

How can he still be here? Why, oh why, oh why!

My point is we'd scored 15 goals in 20 games when Dyche turned up. The season before that, only the relegated teams scored less.

Long before him I'd be moaning on here the lack of pace/goals in the team dictates bad times.

You're kidding yourself if you think lack of goals is resolved when Dyche leaves. We need to bring new players in.
No one (or at least I’m certainly not) is saying it will be resolved and like night and day in comparison. No one is kidding themselves that this a decent group of players. I am saying I think more can be got out of the team, even if only a % uplift in chance creation and goals to be able to win marginally more games.

I’ve said a few times today, it’s not the league position that is currently concerning me it’s the 3 point safety net from dropping into the bottom 3. If we were same position but with a say a 7 point margin, I’d be more comfortable with the current situation and whatever you say about our squad, on one can tell me that is unachievable against the squads of Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester. Better management of some of the games would have achieved that.

January will be interesting….i certainly don’t think Thelwell and Dyche are on the same page broadly speaking in terms of profile of footballer they are looking for, but if they intend to ‘back the manager’, then they will need to hit that sweet spot where both Dyche and Thelwell are satisfied with the target. Otherwise we’ll just have another O’Brien scenario and essentially one of those two are redundant in terms of their influence.

You are not. Many are.

It’s rolling the dice at this stage.

Things like contracts running down don’t help this squad.

We are now at the stage where heads have gone and panic setting in. I agree a new manager with a plan needs to come in. Bringing in just anyone or “Lampard” isn’t rational thinking.
There’s a few good managers available, the more we delay the less those options will be available. See AC Milan situation for example.

I’m just saying be careful what you wish for. Sometimes managers that can get a win for toffee down the Den leave and end up being really quality managers at their new club. *coogh* Silva *cough*
We’re Everton mate and 90% of the fan base still know This,
We ain’t Burnley or millwall no disrespect
