2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

A managers job in any walk of life is to manage the resources he has.

Our resources, benchmarked against the league, is relegation fodder.

It was before Dyche, and it will be if he leaves tomorrow.
So what he gets a free pass then? We have to accept that the players are crap on par with Southampton and Ipswich, can’t be improved, coached/managed or set up differently.

Stale, its got stale.

We cant change the 25 players we need, so its simply easier to change the manager and give the players fresh ideas.

A tale as old as time.
Nah not going to work mate.
Some fella on here said there's no manager who can get more out this squad than Dyche.
Nothing to do with tactics/style, just players are crap.
Sounded very confident that he was right, wouldn't listen to anyone.
Lucky to have some of the lads on here, know their stuff.

Hiring Southgate is the the worst appointment TFG could make, unlikeable, weird and a fraud like Dyche. He also struggled to get the best out of a talented attacking England side, what would he do with this Everton side? Honestly I hate dyche but if it's him or Southgate i'm keeping Dyche all day.
Yep hiring Southgate would be another bad appointment and we've had more than our fair share: Martinez, Koeman, Allardyche, Lampard, Benitez, Dyche. The only two decent ones in last 11 years are Carlo and Silva.

The idea that he’s doing the best he can is absolute nonsense at this point—even some of Dyche’s biggest supporters admit he’s underachieved this season.

We look worse than last season. Remember when we were 'winning the XG' and creating chances, even if we were wasteful in front of goal? That creativity played a big part in securing 13 wins last season. This season, our overall XG has nosedived—we’re rock bottom.

Agree I think Southgate will probably need to set his sights to a mid-lower league PL club before being talked about as a contender for a bigger job. People just remember his last stints in club management. I think if he does well there - he may then get a shot.

Gareth Southgate with Stuart Pearce as his number 2 is the name going round the toffee tower
I wouldn't be surprised especially if TFG bullet Thelwell and brought in Ashworth.

I fear that they would see them as Hollywood appointments.

Not for me but it would be a modest improvement on Dyche.

Then he isn’t managing his resources very well , currently.
At the moment the team is failing as a unit , players and manager .
These players are capable of finishing mid table , last season proves that , and we’ve been strengthened since .
Nobody was suggesting Forest were a top club last season , yet a change of manager along with a couple of new faces and look how their prospects have improved.
The owners have a difficult decision to make , whether to risk squandering precious resources on a manager who has us 3 points clear of relegation and whose contract expires at the season’s end or to bring in a new face and hope he can improve our performance.
Either way it’s a gamble at this point .
