2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I am glad that someone on mainstream tv is finally saying it. I'm tired of neutrals saying we have a poor squad that should be relegated / we don't have a squad good enough to play better football or our own fans saying we have a Championship squad and no goalscorers.

It is all to do with how Dyche is playing them! You can be a Championship side and play better football. You can be someone who hasn't scored in a while and start scoring with a better manager and better football.

This style like Carragher says is 90s tosh that just doesn't work in a copy cat style anymore. You can refine it and make it more modern in the way Frank and Nuno have but Dyche isn't capable of that.
It’s quite shocking when I listen to Carragher, someone I hate, and realise he’s right 😕. We’ve had no money to buy decent players , no board or leadership , all reasonable excuses for Dyche , but the tactics are down to him , we’re not even creating regular goalscoring opportunities or shots on goal.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but my word. Fewer than half the open-play goals of the next worst team...

I find it shocking, even though our attackers have been very inefficient last season from open play and should have 10 goals more from there, makes it still be last by 20 goals.

Doesn't help that we are 2nd in the same time with set pieces with 25 goals behind Arsenal, which is welcoming but shouldn't be the only way of scoring.

For one he's playing in a better team - he's got Tilimans next to him. And you have to admit, recycling the ball only to then play it to Doucoure or Harrison who statistically lose the ball more than anyone in the side, there's missing pieces to a puzzle.

Yes it's direct and instructed to be that. All I'm saying is, new manager comes in...you'll still have the same issue of players not being good on the ball in key areas.
But they are good enough to control a ball - they're instructed to be static and not move forward out of fear. We're hoping DCL and Doucoure wildcard a magic move out of their collective arse so we can have a chance. Or they somehow win it and lay it off to NDiaye and sit and watch.

I get if we're direct, I get if we're "cleanliness is health" as our defensive approach and boot it out first time, that's fine, but we have to have a plan with the ball, and that's just not the Dyche way. There's no movement from players that have shown movement, there's no idea to go forward, nothing. Just boot it upfield after you receive it and it's not your problem, sit and watch.

To control it yeah. To turn and progress or keep it at this level...it's painful when you see Doucoure get the ball, finally trap it then look completely lost.

Dom for the most part is brain-dead and thinks he can outrun defenders or makes the wrong decisions with the ball. It's why he's dropped him for Broja who's better on the ball...now he's died.

It's different when McNeil is in there as there's some link up and he's more composed. And yes, Dyche should play Ndiaye instead of Doucoure while he's out. But then...what effective options are outwide?

Dyche needs to step up and improve massively in the approach play yes. He and anyone else also needs a player in January to boost it.

Don't trust Carragher he's trying to make a case for Dyche, he supports Liverpool fc i don't need to say anymore. We all watch Everton's turgid football week in week out, we can see what's wrong, we play to defend and try and win with a set piece and tbh we still rely on Pickford to save us four or five times throughout a match, so we are not defending that great anyway are we. The players aren't great, but they are better than what they are producing, we must need the right manager / coaches to bring that out, who that is i don't know, but I'm not paid to, it's up to our owners to find out the best manager/ dof to run our club.

Has he gone yet!?

This report that TFG are going to wait until March to sack Dyche is really concerning, hopefully its BS. If we wait this long we could be as good as down with this guy in charge.

I think the big issue TFG have is that the person they want is in another job. They now have big decisions to make that they were hoping to put off until the summer. We need new players in Jan and everyone knows that. Are you going to sign players that Dyche wants knowing he has 5 months left on his contract. His position is untenable now. The fans know this Dyche knows this and more important the players know it.

Unless they know that the individual in question is certain to come here that's a big gamble to take imo.

Thankfully the source they're referring to is teamtalk which has no validity what so ever as like you stated would be absurd and detrimental to the club

If he’s doing the press conference let’s hope the local press ask proper questions, none of ‘how was your Christmas Shaun?’ bollocks.

Ask him straight out if he accepts any responsibility for the pathetic performances and his insistence on picking players who are blatantly out of form or not good enough.

Also call him out on that ‘noise’ bollocks he was spouting about the last season at Goodison.

But I know they won’t.

'It is claimed the new owners are looking to assess the club over a 100-day period before jumping into any conclusions'

What are we now circa 140 days into the season, they don't require another 100 days before they come to a conclusion on him the evidence is clear, what a load of BS

The article above about Illy having success under Dyche’s tutelage seems biased at best. He’s forced to play out of his natural position. And when he does what he does best, the tactics get him trapped by three fullbacks and none of our strikers have been taught to move and create an outlet for him. It’s such a basic technique in all sports taught at the youngest age. Whenever your teammate gets double or triple teamed, then that many people are open. Don’t just stand there. Move.
Yeah I think this is a good point, I feel he’s successful despite Dyche. I’m always struck by how different DCL is now compared to Ancelotti, whatever we think of him he is one of the worlds greatest managers and he definitely got the best from the team. I’m certainly persuaded that Dyche is failing the team as he cannot help get the most from what is a quite a poor squad
