2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I feel for Dyche, me. I know we're naff but the overall mess at Everton isn't of his doing and i'd love someone to show me an Everton side with a competent striker that's firing other than DCLs one fluke season and when Lukaku is here. We haven't been good upfront for years, we just used to have midfielders that banged them in which we now don't. I don't think anyone we bring in is going to solve the fundamental issue that we have no good fullbacks and no creative midfielders with a decent touch. Until we get those we're going to continue to play like we're scared of losing the ball, as we have been since 2021.

Interest in Keane?

This idea that we can only recruit a manager out of work is hangover from the kenwright moshiri era.

I am not sure why people think a manager wouldn't leave their current job to come here?

A manager leaving now to come here gets the following

1. New owners / new era
2. New stadium to move to
3. Due to player contacts, a new project they can build.

We can absolutely go and get our first choice manager if we wanted to. The only reason why we couldn't before was because our shortlist used to only be exclusive to either in a prem job or out of work only.

It looks like sadly as we all suspected, the first time anybody has actually told Dyche he has to win football games at Everton was on the 19th December when TFG took over. Before that he had free rain to do whatever he wanted, you can see now the arrogance has dimmed slightly, he has less smart arse answers, and the fact that he made two subs at halt time on Saturday is perhaps the biggest give away that we are in the end game now.
Hopefully TFG are just sorting out the person they want and then he is gone!

I think there's 2 points to that:

1) The added cost of buying out their current contract might simply make it financially impossible (PSR etc)
2) Even with the recent changes of ownership and new stadium on its way, we're still currently an absolute clownshow of a club. Managers at more stable clubs might not be even slightly interested.

I mean it was a matter of days ago that he laughed off the idea of appointing any new coaches because his fat mate who played in the 70s told him it was woke.

I don't think a new stadium would mean anything to an incoming manager anyway.
And giving our current position it's not exactly the most attractive job in the world is it.
That's the reality unfortunately

Probably because it'll have been him and Thelwell practically running the club for 2+ years.

I have wanted him out for a while, and from the sounds of the press conference yesterday hes had a bit of a warning/telling off.

My problem, and am hoping this is different under TFG, is that normally we are last to the table after the rest of the rabble sack their manager and we are left with scraps. Under Moshiri I would 100000% expect a David Moyes or someone out of work which does the rounds to be appointed when he goes.

We have to get out that cycle, those managers will continually leave us circling the drain, and there is a very small pool of managers to pick from who fit that bill.

Apparently the manager they want is at a club already, but if thats who they are set on, then do everything to get him.

Thought there was a marked difference between his demeanour and attitude yesterday and the post match interview on Saturday.

Maybe he has given himself a talking to if nobody else has.

His attitude all season has been downbeat and defeatist in contrast to the image he portrayed before that - one of a man calm and in control, positive, and stepping up to challenges.

None of this will save him but it does have an affect on the players.
