2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Not surprised at all. I - and many, many people I know - have worked with numerous American companies. And when they acquire a business, the first thing they do without fail, is fire people. That's what they do. And this is completely on brand.

Having said that it was time for Dyche to go. All other teams around us making managerial changes too. And let's be honest - Dyche didn't "save" Everton from relegation. He was just lucky there were 3 teams worse than us each season...

Not sure what the answer is going forward, but I would take much more pride in getting relegated with a fighting and combative team in the final season at Goodison than getting relegated with shotless dross we are subjected too.

They just said on Talksport some very bizaar stories come out of the club and will fill us in shortly..
Don’t know if it’s true or not but a mate knows and under 18 player he was told before 2 he was going. He had a meeting this afternoon and said we are a relegation team without investment and he’s done all he can with this team and he was invited to go.

I agree this should have already been done, but why a few hours before kick-off...... has something happened?

Where we worried that we would win and it's a big Dyche turnaround?

Why not straight after the Bournemouth game>?

Maybe the Freakin’s wanted to reduce the chances of us being the victim of a humiliating giant killing.

I agree, but I suspect there'll be further context about the past few days in the near future. Likewise, I suspect we'll hear about his replacement soon enough.

It appears as though theres been a falling out or theyve been affronted by something he has done.

He could have took a dump in the changing rooms, called Everton's new owners and management team everything under the sun and walked out wearing a Liverpool top.

Doesn't matter, image and Everton first. A statement of his sacking should include thanks or a well wish. It's a classless statement, not befitting of Everton. Those responsible - a lot who were around for that statement against the fans prior to Southampton - should give their head a wobble. Anyway, won't keep banging on about it, most - even those who really disliked him, if honest will raise an eyebrow at that statement.

What is wrong with you people?

Weird timing?
Heartless statement?

This is the new, heartless, business minded, corporate owners of EFC.

No more crying and thank You's, and you were amazing.

Wake up...we want to play Champions League football in the future, this is the approach we have to adopt.

i know people saying chaos behind the scenes why coz we’ve sacked him now and not tomorrow?

They've handled it all so badly so far.

If they were going to sack him, he should have been sacked on Monday at the latest. Let's say Tuesday to allow for cross-Atlantic flights.

But now?

I'm nervous now about the "succession". There doesn't seem to have been a plan ready for execution. The only thing they have executed is Dyche...

The timing makes it seem someone is lined up OR they have faith and want to give a chance to Baines/Coleman in a cup game before deciding.

Please just stop.

He was paid way more than what he should have been paid, millions for delivering [Poor language removed].

No he is gone.
It's not about him it is about us as a Club. He just wasn't good enough but that does not mean that we should not thank him and show a bit of class.

But separately we knew his limitations before he came. He did a job that we all thought he would do but then his approach stagnated the players so much that it resulted in this sterile style of play. Is anyone surprised about how things have turned out?

The next manager will inherit a team that knows how to defend.
