Before this thread is moved, can we change the thread title please? He wasnt sacked, he quit cos he was plop.

Earlier this week, manager Sean Dyche informed the club’s hierarchy that he had taken the team as far as he could. Dyche did not go as far as to formally resign — that would have had financial ramifications with his £5million-a-year ($6.2m) deal due to expire at the end of the season.

But wearied by a turbulent couple of years that saw points deductions, relegation battles and near-constant speculation over the future of the club, the 53-year-old made clear his view that his methods were no longer having the same impact.

The message was that he felt his players, consciously or otherwise, had stopped responding to his methods and that he was no longer the man to take the club on.

The last few years at Goodison have ground everyone down, including him.

TFG had arrived at Everton with the idea that Dyche, increasingly under pressure from fans over his seeming inability to avert a fourth successive relegation fight and one-dimensional tactics, would likely see out his contract — and therefore the season — before making a change.

He had been backed, publicly and in private meetings on TFG’s arrival. Key decision-makers in Houston, where the company has its headquarters, had seen him dig the club out of holes before and initially believed he could do so again.

But Dyche’s comments forced TFG to act. Even on the new ownership’s side, there is an acceptance that the eventual timing of his departure, hours before Thursday’s FA Cup game against Peterborough United of England’s third tier, was far from ideal. It came, though, after protracted talks, held over a couple of days, over his compensation package.

Sean Dyche - loser/quitter

Would this be more suitable?

Thatcher loving snot rubbing kopite supporting 28% winning double relegating dung beetle.
See he's getting his face out there on absolute awful 'banter' programme ' A League of There Own'

'Big Meeks' and him will have a good laugh, now i can see why he backed him so much on MOTD

To be fair he would have a chance of keeping a team like Leicester up. Dyche is a 36pt a season specialist and could achieve this with a lot of the promoted teams that come up. The problem is that this is the only way he knows how to manage a team over a season. Whilst it gives promoted teams a chance to stay up, it keeps a team like Everton who are much better than 36pts artificially low, putting us close to a relegation battle that we shouldn't need to be in

I am grateful to Dyche when he came into the club because when he took over from Mad Frank we were in a position that getting to 36pts was what was needed. Even last season he was the appropriate man as because he had to apply that 36 point a season approach on top of a deduction. Which he achieved.

Without the deduction we would have finished on 48pts. Considering we had a 10 point( later reduced to 6) and a 2 point deduction, that is 48 -12 =36
So he did well last season because he had to achieve that 36 point philosophy whilst finding an additional 12 points to counteract the deduction

The issue I had with him this season is that he still went with his 36 point plan after proving last year that he could go up to 48

Its almost as though not having the adversity of a points deduction meant that he didnt need to aspire to anything better

Honestly, im not elitist, but I reckon if you had spent a few grand to watch Everton lose against Luton twice at home that your opinion would be vastly different.

You always pull the 'Mr Everton' line up dont you.

You're not the only one who's ever been to a few Everton games mate.

It doesn't make your opinion more valid than mine or anyone else.
