Why is the bar set so low for this guy ? Love to be in his shoes given some of the leeway extended here

2 goals in 5 games - blame the board

Lose 4-0 with a second half capitulation - blame the board
Performances have been better not sure anyone can argue they have not..I exclude second half last night as I switched off at half time and watched the witcher.

We are very close to the point where we cant just say oh well, on to the next game. We have no margin for error at all.

It will be May and we will be 7 points adrift and people will be writing off games and saying the next one is more important

I've consigned myself for anything like that happening to be fair mate.

It happens, it happens. End of the day, no team sells £100mill of attacking talent, reinvests £10mill on it, and survives in the league.

We are creating chances and getting shots on goal, that's not the problem. We dont have anyone who can score goals. Everyone could see this last summer. Failure to replace Richy and Gordon. Even the failure to replace Rondon and Tosun (they were rubbish but no 3rd or 4th choice striker closes options and stops competition for a starting place). Total failure to recruit attacking options is the problem, not Dyche. He's been here for 1 month. We've been struggling to score goals all season.

Points taken, however 2 goals in 5 games is everything everyone 'feared' about Dycheball when he was appointed.

That just tells you how low it was with Lampard. We are doing better on the underlying statistics, despite the fact that the opponent in 3 out of 5 games has been very tough, and we look like a football team again. If we had managed to win 2 out of 5 football matches from the beginning of the season, then relegation would not have been an issue.

That's where we are now, but thanks to blind faith in Lampard, it may not be enough. Without a solid striker, or offensive attacking threats at all, Dyche will have to overperform. Unfortunately, I think we will be relegated, everything else will be a positive surprise. And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that Lampard was in the job for too long and that we should bring in a striker in January. Quite a few people on the forum said that quite early on.

He has 13 games left, 39 points to play for of which he will need to get almost 50% of those points available. Added to that four of those fixtures would be what we consider "expected losses" so really he's 9 games that he has to win 5 of at least. If we go down its because the board left it too long to change the manager and didn't buy a striker to fill in for Calvert Lewin not Dyche.
I'm not saying the board is exempt at all. We all know this. If we are relegated then in my opinion he will not keep his job. And I'm OK with that too
