2022/23 Sean Dyche

There have been times when this guy would have been my first choice. But not now. We are to far gone and need a maverick

We'll at least one things clear from the responses on this forum about dyche' possible appointment it appears we're all prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.?

we have only played half the season. This January window gives us half a chance to buy some key players… notably a dead ball specialist (corners and free kicks should be worth points in our situation), a pacy outlet on the wing we can clear it too and a back up target man.

Ultimately I’d rather a more radical signing, someone who will completely tear down the way we play and give us a new sense of identity.

You get the sense this will be more turgid rubbish.

We’re going to be relegated either way, I’d rather we be bolder now as it will take time. Dyche would just be delaying the changes we need by half a season.

Football has moved on massively since dyche was in the championship.

His brand of football would not be effective in the championship now. He would not get us promoted if we got relegated in fact he’d likely have us struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Shocking appointment this if it happens.

I think this is the crux of it really. We are caught a bit in no man's land currently between wanting survival but not expecting it.

I'll wait to see how things unfold but if the worst happens then Dyche has got promoted twice from three seasons in The Championship. That has to be a factor in our predicament.

The difference to Howe is that people occasionally enjoyed watching that Bournemouth team and thought Howe might have a future at a higher station.

The stench of this appointment will stick on this club for decades.
Really? I remember when he was linked to come here and everybody was saying he was garbage and didn’t want a relegated manager.

Starting to believe that this fan base is actually toxic or clueless, unsure which, or possibly both.

I know he's not a dream appointment, and I'm pretty sure we'll get relegated under him (and most other managers), but he is at least an honest guy who works hard, and won't stand for any shirking. This is the minimum needed in the Championship. I think given our lack of work ethic, we will struggle if we go down. Trendy managers are all well and good, but managers like Cooper, Warnock, Dyche get consistent results in the lower leagues. Long term planning is out of the window, we need to stabilise the playing side of the club until our owner and board leave, and then hopefully we can start again.
