Just a little reminder.

Dyche was appointed here;

The rot was deep;

We had/have the worst attack/front three in the division. It would struggle in the Championship. Most of us have acknowledged that our front three without Calvert-Lewin dictated relegation scrap no matter who the manager.

Dyche's has been here 10 league games. His first 5 games included top of the league Arsenal x2, Liverpool away as well as Aston Villa and Leeds.

He's achieved this in those 10 games - half of those games were Arsenal x2, Liverpool away, Man Utd away, Chelsea away. How often do we get results at Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd or Chelsea?

If our form under Dyches continues - we stay up which all considered - would be a remarkable achievement for him
Someone can make a thread at the end of the season to see which was the biggest achievement - staying up this season or staying up last season lol
I think we will just do it, but we will have done it the hard way both seasons

What sort of talk?

You've decided what Sean Dyche is based on one job.

I'm suggesting you at least try and keep an open mind considering he's not had multiple jobs to prove anything.

He did better than expected at Burnley.

He's doing the same so far with Everton.

Is he?

Who has ever appointed him to survive relegation before?

You keep comparing him to Sam Allardyce.

In my view it's a lazy, and incorrect comparison.

One of the reasons I wanted Dyche was because he's been promoted twice at first time of asking for Burnley.

I want him to stay even if we go down.

He gets as good as a free pass next season if we stay up. The only way I'd call for his sacking is if we're looking favourites for relegation and I felt changing him would improve our chances of avoiding relegation.

Our teams dictates pragmatism over mindset.

Give me percentages football if it keeps us up for now - over time, he'll have his chance to develop that. I think he will.
Every manager who comes in has people talking about early signs of what's to come. It's all very positive and optimistic until suddenly it isn't.

I've seen plenty of Dyche over the years, certainly enough to know what he is and what to expect. He's not the first manager to do alright for himself at a budget club and he won't be the last.

Comparisons with Allardyce are valid because their approaches are similar, except Allardyce was much more imaginative with his limited resources earlier in his career. If anything, Dyche's Burnley team had more in common with Stoke than Allardyce's Bolton.

Perhaps I'll urge you to keep an open mind if we end up appointing Tony Pulis to get us over the line next season.

Howe has shown to be way more adaptable in his career than Dyche
I like Howe so i'm not gonna question his management skills, but Howe is playing the same football now as he did at Bournemouth, just with a better squad, more money and more experience of the premiership.

Dyche is now on his 2nd job in the premiership, no money to spend when arriving, and fighting relegation again.

Explain how you can say 1 is more adaptable then the other.

Always hated playing against his Burnley team. Can't recall an Everton idea getting an easy game against them. Not to mention they took points off a few times.
I remember a few but it's beside the point really as you're correct, they've taken some points off us in very convincing ways.

Realistically that means nothing for the current jellyfish squad we have, but hopefully he manages to get more out of them in the same way. Looking at some of the Burnley squads that have beat/drawn against us is proper horror movie stuff also lol

You're also allowed to watch his teams play and conclude he's not Pochettino though. It isn't like Saints are so much better set up to succeed than Burnley.
Completely untrue. For most of my 40 years of life Southampton have been a premier league side, and the largest side on the south coast. Giving them a decent choice of youth players.
Burnley have been lower leagues for most of that time, surrounded in the north west by some huge clubs swallowing up local talent and supporters.

Well, you talk about who Dyches is, put him in a neat little box and how his "limitations and ceiling are obvious"

My point is a simple one - you've seen Dyche at Burnley, and only Burnley.

I'd say the limitations and ceilings at Burnley is what is obvious.

He was pragmatic with them, and played to their DNA. I've got a lot of time for that. I think he'd still be their manager, and we'd have gone down if they kept Chris Wood.

Carlo Ancelotti got an Everton team to 10th.

Sometimes no matter the manager, the team and resource dictate the ceiling.

Only time will tell who Sean Dyche is. He'll need time to show it.

We battered them bout 5 or 6 years ago away on Boxing Day. I remember not having anything to moan about that Christmas. Halcyon Days lol

Unfortunately what Saints when Le Titssier was playing for them isn't really relevant to the 2010s

Dhyce has stated himself..... he has never had a great budget to work with but got the best out of the teams he had. I would love to see him here without his hands tied behind his back financially.
He'd probably be the same as Moyes, ie crap.

Managers like Dyche revel in the "us against the world" mentality.
