With Dyche we all know he kept Burnley competitive in the premier league for a good period of time. The lack of talent he had at his disposal was surpassed by the work ethic.
I know everyone hates all our players at the moment but we have better players than he did at Burnley so the bar is higher IMO. The question is, is he more than just a one trick pony or can he adapt with better players.
He'd get us organised defensively which is an absolute must but without goals currently in the team are we destined to lose but only lose by the odd goal or can he get us winning games by the odd goal.
The defence looks made for him to work with, all Dyche 'type of players' but can he get us scoring goals, thats the million dollar question.

hasn’t taken Burnley to Top 4?Lampards finished top 4 dyche hasnt
So you want Moyes?Lampards finished top 4 dyche hasnt
Lampard may improve as a manger over time but he is currently a truly terrible managerLampards finished top 4 dyche hasnt
Probably because he has had a couple of jobs now with a wealth of resources to call on and achieved nothing with them. It’s a good point. Chelsea never went for him instead of Potter, I’ll never know
Agree that in our current circumstances we shouldn't be appointing someone with some carved in stone way of playing in his head, regardless of the capabilities of the current Everton players. Pragmatism for 18 months is the way to go, unfortunately. He's an manager experienced in working with limitations. He's admitted that. You tell me what I've got and I'll work with it is what he's said.
IMO we need that. Someone who'll come in under no illusions and squeeze as much as he can put if what we got, and hopefully get him some players in January to help.
One piece of the mess we're has been getting managers who want to play a certain way, but due to recruitment and short termism, it doesn't work.
Dyche will have no ego to "play his way" if they can't do it. He'll come in and get what he can out of them.
He should've been given the job Monday IMO
when they went on that losing streak at Anfield, Burnley were the first to beat them.Aye, when they won at anfield. Which I think he's done more times that we have in decades
He did and he is.Silly argument. Lampard undeniably put his heart into it. He was just a poor manager
Seen a lot of folks on the forum swallowing the lazy punditry line about Dyche automatically meaning low block, boring football - reasonable since the Burnley games that were televised are the ones where they needed to sit deep and defend against the Top 6, but not actually true.
Yes it'll be defensive (we are joint bottom) but it certainly doesn't mean the high press will evaporate over night. The press might get triggered less given the fixtures ahead and our position in the league, but crucially, it'll be far better organised - simply because we have a much better coach (and the same would be true if it was Bielsa).
Burnley regressed in his final year, but certainly in the two years prior, they were regularly much further up the pitch than people recognise - here's a few examples:
Everton 1 - 2 Burnley -
Leicester 1 - 1 Burnley -
Burnley 1 - 1 Arsenal -
and what the closest example to what I think we'll see under Dyche at Goodison (two forwards press, midfield and backline push up to win the resulting long ball, counter) - Burnley 2 - 0 Fulham to send Fulham down -
Lampards finished top 4 dyche hasnt
