2022/23 Sean Dyche

They`d still have no functioning striker, so I can say with all confidence, that no matter who was our manager, they`d be in the exact same postion.

Has he ballsed up the last two games, yes he has, but that`s been down to having to juggle the misfits that he has available.

If Doucure wasn`t suspended, Coleman and Onana hadn`t been injured, they`d have all played and who knows, the results could`ve been different.

It`s on the board, comrade, not the manager.
Not even that also is hardly any goals in this team. Dont get why so many against dyche when lampard last season did not get any of this with a better team imo

I suspect like me he will be think WTF went on with that performance at the weekend, while a lot of these players have history, its prob the first time under him we haven't at least competed and mentally melted the job of work this week is a root cause analysis of how that collectively happened and firing a few rockets, we and he learned at the weekend who has the mentality for this or not.

Sorry but even if it's the first time under him he shouldn't need to see that to know which players can't be trusted. He should have done his homework before taking the job.

Not sure what you were expecting of Dyche mate.

I've felt we'd be relegated this season before a ball was kicked, and certainly when the window shut.

I've felt that way because I don't think we have the players who can create, or score the required goals to keep us up.

Only way we're getting results is a clean sheet and a set piece goal (Brentford, Arsenal) or a one in a million effort (Coleman vs Leeds, Keane vs Spurs. Even Simms vs Chelsea really, some goal that).

Looking at the results so far (below, just misses Fulham), we've got more points under Dyche that I'd have expected.

11 Games.

3W
3D
5L

That form isn't relegation form.

It's very decent too when factor in 5 were Arsenal X2, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea A.

Fulham is the only game I've felt we've got less than I expected - but until recent form I wasn't expecting a win.

If Dyche was here in the summer, I think we're looking over our shoulder but I don't think we go down.
If Dyche come in after Bournemouth, I think we're 5/6 points above now.

Its all subjective at the moment.

The positive results achieved were all from a certain style and setup.

I think everyone sees the loss of certain players led Dyche to setup in a somewhat kamikaze way against United.

But to do this again...we will need to keep our eyes peeled to see if hes learned anything.

Crapped the bed last two games with his setups. Please rectify for Saturday or we're getting pummelled.

It sounds naive but to replace Ancelotti with Davide would (i assume) have continued with the defensive structure that could have seen a gradual cementing as a mid table team.

I would have expected the same or better from an experienced operator in Dyche. However, like Benitez he doesnt seem to have done any homework on the squad.

Its frightening.

Just seen this after my post to you saying the same.

He and Benitez either didnt bother to do any homework...watch videos or simply believe they have magic powers.

I like Dyche, think he's got us on the right path and we'll JUST be OK.

We're generally awful around international breaks. Here we are recovering from the latest with two losses (albeit one vs Man Utd who are going OK). Dyche's got caught out how sloppy they are concentration-wise. Sort of agree with comments re: Keane... I just can't trust the lad. Coady and Mina both seem to offer more.

But Saturday was Dyche's first BAD result and the forward area OF COURSE the issue. How Thelwell / Board isn't in stocks over not buying forwards is beyond me.

I don't get why he's dropped Simms? Is he injured? Gray up front doesn't work, and Maupay seems bereft of luck and form. I get DCL's a fitness doubt, is he even close to returning? The lad's never been reliable barring a few months of hope under Ancelotti. Christ how the likes of him and Davies have cashed in the club's better nature.

We're worthy of relegation, but it can be avoided.

Keep McNeil, Gray wide. We don't need 5 in the middle. Get Simms up front with Maupay playing off him, he might get a lucky rebound. Keane's a gamble but then he's scored more than any of our recognised 'strikers' lately (counting McNeil as a winger).

I'm pretty sure that if Dyche had managed us all season we wouldn't have been in the relegation battle. We would probably have been where Crystal Palace is now, maybe a little better, and come in around 12-14th place. That's about the maximum I think this group can achieve. The problem with Dyche is if he gets better players, can he achieve better results? This is where I am unsure. Still, this is not a relevant issue.

Right now I think Dyche is the right man for the job, as long as Hodgson is at Palace. I don't envy Dyche the job. Because how are you going to get this team to score goals, while at the same time having some balance defensively? I have no idea. We still produce enough chances, but Richarlison has been replaced by Maupay, and DCL no longer plays football.

The little recipe for success we had, with AD, Onana and Gana in midfield has been blown away. In comes a relatively unknown player with barely 10 games in the PL, and the alternative is Tom Davies. We also sold AG to Newcastle, just to make the options better. Some put their trust in Simms. A 22-year-old footballer with 10 games in the PL, and a whopping 1 goal! Others argue that Iwobi should play centrally, well, where was he at Fulham's second goal?

The point is that we are discussing things that are insignificant. The quality of this team is deplorable and Keane and Tarkowski are the most dangerous players we have. We cheer like crazy for every corner because we know that for every 30-50 corners a goal can come. It is absolutely absurd how this club has developed and how many wrong decisions have been made.

I remember criticizing the strategy with Ancelotti, and the thinking behind that whole project, saying that this was a big risk project, well, welcome to savior Dyche.

I don't understand why this is becoming a binary thing where people saying the board have failed us are arguing with people who think that Dyche is failing us.

Those 2 things aren't mutually exclusive.

It's incredibly obvious that we've been run into the ground by those at the top, don't think anyone is arguing with that.

Reality is though, after some good early results Dyche's performances have dropped off. He got everything wrong vs Fulham, wrong starting 11, wrong shape and wrong subs.

Pointing that out isnt absolving the board of blame.

You look at other teams who change managers and get a massive improvement, like at Villa with Dick in charge. Then people say "well, this proves it's not the players, a good manager can make a big difference". But it's easy to improve on players that were underperforming, it's not so easy when the players are just rubbish. Villa had underperformers, we're just rubbish. Thanks Mosh.

The [Poor language removed] was a short name for Richard 😂

By all means mate, state that opinion but it lacks substance if you don't offer the solution.

How much do you rate this lot like? Enough to make a difference?
