2022/23 Sean Dyche

I think he will be here if the prem league or the Championship - think he would be the right call if we did go down to try and get us back up, dont get why people moan they want another boss - i am happy with him - give him a transfer window or 2 to see what he can do, some are never happy no matter who the boss is either. one thing i do find a little odd about Dyche though if he is not telling Fibs, which is he never looks at the Table, as if he does not he should start now

Everyone agrees how bad the squad is. He's trying to manage that and couldn't bring anyone in.

Bad players, injuries, suspension, no strikers, rock-bottom confidence, a madcap board, constant firefighting.

I'm disappointed with some recent results but he really is managing under a severe handicap.

If he keeps us up it's job very much done. If he does not, then imo you'd have to present a very good argument and alternative candidate to justify sacking him. It just isn't warranted.

As much as it will absolutely destroy me being relegated, Dyche was on a hiding to nothing when he came here due to years of abysmal leadership by the board and owner which culminated in hiring the spanish waiter who inflicted massive damage throughout the entire club, replacing him with an amateur who's only quality was being a nice bloke, leaving that nice bloke in place at least 3 months too long and them continually stripping the club of any of their best assets due to their own gross mismanagement of the clubs finances.

Have to face the reality that Dyche is the most experienced we could hope for in the championship and our best chance of not staying down their too long. He will need the board completely wiped out and replaced for that to happen though.

RS hitting a bit of form, hopefully....as much as it pains me to say this. Hope that continues, they're playing a few teams around us in next few weeks. Could drag a few teams into the battle

If a new board came in, they'd have a decision to make whether he's the right manager to move us forward, regardless of what division we are in.

His favouritism towards the likes of Keane and Iwobi are alarming, the way he brushes off Patterson questions I don't like and then the minutes he's wasted on Maupay is enough to give anyone sleepless nights.

I think we're down regardless of him or not being in charge, though I think if we went down he'd look like a bit of a tit because of his little sly digs at the previous regime and how he's got them "fit" and "away form improving".

He's a poor manager, managing a very poor squad with little to no creativity and goals within it. Certainly not enough to win the games required as proven with 1 win in the last 9 games.

People saying he shouldn't last beyond the summer are fogetting he's on a 2.5 year contract, not 6 months.

We can't afford to keep sacking managers, even if you perverted masochists desire it so greatly.
His style of football is all wrong if we go down. You need to risk losing to win games, and need to win over 25 matches to get promotion. We're talking over 90 points.

There is no chance he can play the brand of football needed to win close to 30 matches. Safety first football does not work in that league and no one who has been promoted recently has played percentage football.

I think he'll keep us up this season and next but we need to move forward at the new stadium. His style of play won't carry momentum into the stadium move.

His game plan has got us with a real good chance of staying up. If the recent suspensions and injuries hadn't happened we'd be out of the relegation zone right now.

If we get those players back he'll keep us up.

Yes there has been a lot of talk about how he’s improved the mentality of the players away from home - it hasn’t shown on the pitch at all.

Would have been a good idea to insert the option of a break clause to be activated at the end of the season, but it's difficult when the club is over a barrel in negotiations.

Amazing that people look at the championship over the last 5 or so years and think that dinosaur football gets you out of it. Teams come up playing good football.

The reason that we have fallen to where we have is that the premier league has seen teams like dyches Burnley, pulis stoke, Sunderland etc have been replaced by championship teams who come up well funded and can compete in the middle of the table (Bournemouth/Leicester/wolves).

Even in a hypothetical world where dyche somehow gets up. It will be straight back to relegation battles. As that is just who he is. Anyone kidding themselves that he will suddenly start to play better football is deluding themselves.

I don't neccessarily disagree. I haven't watched much of us at all this season, but I do see a general consensus.

I'm just not sure we can financially afford another sacking.

It's sit back with 2 banks of 4, don't engage or press the opposition, soak up pressure and try and nick something from a free kick or corner.

We don't get players into forward areas and don't show any urgency to go and win a game. He's an extremely limited manager, and I see no real difference in how we are playing now from earlier in the season. We have conceded slightly fewer goals, but not scored any more than before. The lack of intent is my bigest concern.

It took us 25 mins and going behind to bother pressing Fulham. Then we made a change and went aggressive for 10 minutes, got an equaliser before half time and should have scored 2 more. Then after half time, we went back to the passive sit back football and got absolutely battered for 45 minutes. I'm still baffled by it all.

We won't stay up if we don't try to score goals. Having only ever 1 man in the box is football from a different age. What worked for Dyche in the championship 10 or 12 years ago won't work now. The game has changed but his methods are the same.
