2022/23 Sean Dyche

In hindsight yes, but McNeil had one of the best games an Everton player has had in seasons a week earlier, counter attacking a team who play similar to City.

Dyche was on a hiding to nothing today re: left back.
McNeill had another good game today, even though he had to baby sit the far more experienced Holgate most of the game. I don't think Dyche was on a hiding to nothing at left back, he is just a manager who has a decent plan A, but, no plan B whatsoever. There would having been few people who watch Everton regularly, who were not filled with dread at the thought of Holgate playing left back against City.

I’m hoping that the new investment/board members may hold some sway in this,I must admit I’m not sold on Dyche as a long term option for us whether we stay up or go down.

Next season I think he can be a solid 40-45 points manager with some reliable forwards in this league. For last season of Goodison that will be enough.

Beyond that he'll go the same way as other managers once expectations rise with actually being in the new ground. Just because you're playing in shiny new surroundings dosen't mean you'll just rise 5-6 places up the league.

Hi guys, I tell you I wouldn’t like to be in the trenches with some of you.

The city result was always on the cards they are just too good and especially when your team are down to the bare bones.

One thing about Dyche is that unless a player is fit and hitting all the markers in training then they will not play. DCL got hooked to save him for the next 2 games, as Dyche clearly decided the city game was a lost cause at HT and let’s be honest he’s not wrong.

I’m confident as an outsider that you will
Survive. I think you will turn Wolves over comfortably and not even need a result against Bournemouth.

So surely that spells the end of the Holgate at left back experiment. Thankfully it wasn't in a game where we really had a chance to get anything from it and we now know it cannot be repeated.

With that in mind, if Mykolenko continues to be unavailable, it should be 541/5311 with McNeil and Patterson as wing backs, and Gray brought into the team.

Our form over the past 12 games puts us 16th, two points from bottom three and the 4th worst GD in the league, so there's been very little improvement.

Granted he hasn't had a window to bring his own players in, but it's likely we won't have much to play with in the summer anyway. So we need a manager who can improve what we have. Sadly I don't think SD is that guy.

Why would you judge a manager on a god awful squad that isn't his?

Priority is survival.

Then he gets a chance.

Because he's the type of manager who will recruit his godawful crap players that are his and still be the same worm eating Brexit-footballing "hard" man.

Doesn't matter if we survive or not - Dyche transfers are old ExPeRiEnCeD players anyway, so whatever the outcome of the relegation is - we'll take a year or two to recover and move on players.

Can't wait for Kenwright to offer a 33 year old midfielder a minimum 4 year contract as well. Match made in heaven.

Surely depends on what Kopite Kev and the financials are like.

End of the day out last 2 gaffers sold around £150mill worth of talent and spent £120mill of it.

If that's still the trend...any new manager will have £40-£50mill to spend after selling remaining assets. So...feel free to suggest the usual "forward thinking progressive" manager to build a premier league squad on that budget.

Because Everton fans live in a delusion where a perennial bottom half team is going to find a manager, mid season, with the team in the bottom 3, who is going to come in and take a wretched squad with barely any fit attacking options, and out perform all his peers by a noticeable distance because he’s actually an amazing manager (just so good that no one else has hired him yet)

Even when we did have such a manager in Carlo Ancelotti, potentially one of the greatest of all time, even when he had us challenging for the top 4 there was still a load of moaning.

After watching some of these players under several different managers recently I’m in no doubt that Dyche is getting the most from them. One day though, Everton fans will accept that even good managers can only do so much with utter brain dead morons who can barely string a pass together.

No idea - Kopite Kev's job.

It's not Dyche though, that's like 95% sure because he's definitely not gonna get a good prospect and actually play him.

In fairness, one of the reasons we are in this mess is we have allowed all the previous managers to bring in their own players, and reassemble the team, but then sacked them and appointed a new manager who wants completely different players.

We need to start judging managers on what they get out of the players we have. We can't say they can't be judged until they get their own squad of players in.

If we are going to have a DOF (I personally don't see the point), then at least let them do their job and to be in charge of recruitment. Players should be brought in to fit a style, system and identity, not because a manager likes them.

That's the big issue with people saying "give him the Summer and his own squad".

If he does that and it doesn't work out we bring another manager in who then "can't be judged" until the next window to bring in his own players.

Club's run by monkeys.
