2022/23 Sean Dyche

We're definitely rubbish but he's also definitely had enough games to get us safe. Considering he figures himself someone capable of keeping teams in the PL.

Don't make me copy and paste again...

The point is, Dyche keeping us up would be a tremendous achievement. A few are trying to rewrite the reality of that achievement.

We were favourites to go down, and for good reason. I couldn't find a blue who was optimistic about our chances when Lampard was sacked and Dyche was appointed.

Fans wanted to kiss Lampards arse for achieving nothing comparative to what Dyche could potentially achieve.

Why? Because he's Frank Lampard and one is Sean Dyche.

Football hipsters who just don't like Sean Dyche. That's fair enough, but don't undermine the challenge he had because you don't like him.

Dyche keeping us up would be the biggest individual achievement for any Everton manager since Moyes finished 4th.

No apologies for copying and pasting again;

Appointed here;

With Arsenal x2, Liverpool A within the first 5 games.

Without a striker.

Go through the team and count the players career goals.

There isn't goals in this team.

Go through the team and count assists/chance creation.

There isn't assists in this team.

Why would players who have never scored goals or created them on a regular basis suddenly start?

He joined a team not in a bad spell, not in a blip, but a team that is, and remains no doubt relegation fodder;

This. He’s done an excellent job if he keeps us up.

Leeds have a 25 mill pound striker sat on their bench who barely plays

Southampton invested 45 mill in Sulemana and Tall Paul in January

Dyche had Gordon sold and his only decent striker (a 2.5 mill player from Sheffield United) has been injured most of the season.

He has McNeil Iwobi Maupay Gray as attacking options with Simms a youth player and a few games of Calvert Lewin whenever he’s fit.

Under most managers I’m convinced we’d be down by now, especially any of the managers in and around bottom half teams. Marsch, Gracia, Jones, Selles, Smith, Rodgers, Cooper. I think if any of them had come in when Dyche did we’re a certainty to be down already.

Lampard got praised for keeping us up, Dyche will get praised for keeping us up.

Lampard would have been scolded and binned if we went down, so will Dyche.

They're not different scenarios for me.

Well, no. You're wrong.

Take @Goat - he wants Dyche sacked if we stay up. He wasn't saying that last season about Lampard.

He's not alone.

The attitude towards Dyche is a world away from what it was towards Lampard.

What support in the market did Sean Dyche receive?

Lampard was supported in the summer and the previously january.

Massively different scenarios, this isnt Sean Dyches team

If he keeps us up he's objectively done a good job, and will get another season. But if we go down in a season were 35 or 36 points will probably be enough, then he will have failed.

Our home results under him haven't really been good enough. Very very poor performances at home to Villa, Newcastle and especially Fulham. The draws away at Forest and Leicester were also missed opportunities.

It all comes down to 2 games. If we stay up he'll get a chance to build next year. If we go down, I see no reason whatsoever to keep him in the championship.

Yeah it's not like opinions and overall situations can change, it's definitely 1 to 1 here for everything. Also I'm sure a lot of people wanted Frank sacked after the season was over - we had hope we'd start well and we didn't and everyone cried out for his sacking after a month. The same thing should happen with Wormeater.

This is a pointless conversation anyway - our board is inept and Dyche will have another year whatever happens. Problem is that he'll instantly buy dross pensioners and we'll be at most 13-14th if we're even in the Prem.

Lampard was appointed on 31 January, and then had his best player sold and not replaced in the summer.

Dyche wasn't backed but neither was Lampard. The board have put both in an awful position, and got one of them the sack.

The idea Lampard was backed is just not true at all.

How am I wrong when I'm giving you my opinion lol

I literally said 'for me'.

Forgive me for not paying too much attention to what the blimp says.

My opinion is that your opinion that there isn't a difference in attitude towards Dyche compared to Lampard is wrong.

I used @Goat as the example as he was who you originally quoted me on.

I've no doubt that Dyche is being treated a lot differently to Lampard - I don't recall fans on here calling for Lampard to be sacked even if he kept us up. I've saw a lot of that for Dyche.

A reminder - Lampard took over a team in 16th, and 4 points clear of the relegation zone - with a game in hand;

Lampard had Richarlison (and Gordon to be fair), and was able to bring in 2 players he wanted in van de Beek and Dele Alli.

Sean Dyche took over this;

No doubt whatsoever, Sean Dyche keeping Everton in the Premier League is a bigger challenge than what Lampard had.

But because Sean Dyche is Sean Dyche, he's having some fans undermine and downplay the challenge he had.

It is a bigger challenge, who is denying that? All I said is he has had enough games to keep us in the league. Simple as that. He has.

Lampard just needed more time.
