2022/23 Sean Dyche

That's the big issue with people saying "give him the Summer and his own squad".

If he does that and it doesn't work out we bring another manager in who then "can't be judged" until the next window to bring in his own players.

Club's run by monkeys.

This is a disservice to monkeys. That chimp from Planet of the Apes would do a better job I'm sure.

If we are going to have a DOF, then let them do their job properly and be fully in charge of recruitment

If we are going to let managers decide the recruitment policy, then move away from the DOF model and just have a chief scout (and a team below him) who reports to the manager.

We currently have a DOF model where the manager seems to dictate the recruitment. I don't honestly see how it can ever work.

I'm not a fan of Dyche but if he keeps us up then he probably deserves to stay for another season. But I don't agree that he should be in charge of a rebuild because I don't see him as long term whatever happens.

What's worse is that we currently have a DOF model where the manager seems to dictate the recruitment and the owner and chairman both still "do bits" as well.

"Clown fiesta" comes to mind.

In fairness, one of the reasons we are in this mess is we have allowed all the previous managers to bring in their own players, and reassemble the team, but then sacked them and appointed a new manager who wants completely different players.

We need to start judging managers on what they get out of the players we have. We can't say they can't be judged until they get their own squad of players in.

If we are going to have a DOF (I personally don't see the point), then at least let them do their job and to be in charge of recruitment. Players should be brought in to fit a style, system and identity, not because a manager likes them.

My opinion also.

Hence why the rumours are if Dyche stays on...he's wielding an axe.

So if that's the train we get on we need to all be onboard and let it roll out.

I will support anyone who tries to overhaul the squad and move players on.

I still do not think it will work if we have a manager carrying out the overhaul under a DOF model. We need to make our mind up what we want to do, it can't be both models running parallel because that makes no sense.

Thing is though...when he was out the job Dyche said that he'd work in whatever conditions the club has

So if Mosh says Thelwell is in charge, you'd think he'd go along with it. If Mosh says Dyche is in charge...

It's that lack of solid direction which is a part of how we've ended up in a mess so...you've got to see what they agree with.

Given that Thelwell has actually been allowed to put together his own recruitment team over the last 6 months or so I would expect him to be in charge although I have no doubt that Dyche will be having some input into it.

Agree with the points you raised. But also the DOF needs to be allowed to do his job from the people above him. Look at the board and owner for example their mangers choices since moyes. All the mangers have had a different philosophy and view of the game. Prime example was dyche or biesla two most opposites you can get. I believe in the DOF model if you let them do their job. I also believe that the manger should definitely have a say on players that we recruit, but not the final say. The main points going forward is, the owner and board have no say on football matters, the DOF and the manager need to have a good relationship. And probably the most important point is, at the end of the season the club needs to agree on a direction and identity on what philosophy of football we want to have. Is it counter attack, defensive or high press etc etc. That way we recruit for that philosophy in both players and managers

NO!!!!!

It's a miracle if he gets 12 points in 19 games, a modern day MIRACLE.

Dyche keeping us up would be the biggest individual achievement for any Everton manager since Moyes finished 4th.

With Arsenal x2, Liverpool A within the first 5 games.

Without a striker.

Go through the team and count the players career goals.

There isn't goals in this team.

Go through the team and count assists/chance creation.

There isn't assists in this team.

Why would players who have never scored goals or created them on a regular basis suddenly start?

He joined a team not in a bad spell, not in a blip, but a team that is, and remains no doubt relegation fodder;

Dyche has took 17 points from 16 games winning 4, we have scored 17goals in those 16 compared to the 15 goals in 20 from Lamaprd when he won 3 games. we have let 28 in so far with Dyche - same as Lampard did those 1st 20- and pretty much as above Dyche came in at a bad time and pretty much with no forward or to a team that didnt score much

I'll keep sharing it mate because fans are either fickle, and/or delusional and would do well to understand that this team is without question, relegation fodder.

This team is bottom 3 quality. I was saying it all summer on here we'd be in a relegation scrap and had people telling me we'd be competing for Europe - the same people are snarling at Dyche now.

We're definitely rubbish but he's also definitely had enough games to get us safe. Considering he figures himself someone capable of keeping teams in the PL.
