Not considering/asking who'd come and replace him now is a ridiculous argument?

We'd need to replace him mate if he left.

Look at the shortlist who we've had to replace Lampard, Benitez. It wouldn't have got any better since.

Even Bielsa legged us because he didn't think the squad could stay up.
I think that came down to who was in the hot seat.

If 777, for example are very close to buying us, then I’d imagine their sporting director would have major influence.

He is such a weird character.

You have all this bluster in press conferences and ‘call me Gaffer’ energy on the training ground, but he strikes me as a much weaker man than he’s prepared to present to the world.

He’s constructed this honey monster persona to mask that, but it breaks through in things like these retrospective complaints in press conferences and his panicked randomised substitutions when he thinks the fans might boo him for not trying to change a looming defeat.

See also his perfunctory three or four claps above his head followed by running down the tunnel after every game, and his “I haven’t got a problem with the fans,” sound bites he slings into most press conferences when discontent is suggested by the journalists.

There just no relationship there whatsoever. No attempt to build one from him.

I genuinely think he’s scared of us.
@chicoazul THE FANS undermining another manager????

Steve Cooper. Think he’d be a good bet to get us back up as well if we went down.

Laurent Blanc?
AVB?
Lopetegui? (probs same money complaints though)
Kovac?
Favre?
Urs Fischer would suit us.
Bo Svensson I'm a fan of.

Think I'd rather haver Jesse Marsch than Dyche.
Kovac no, failed almost everywhere expect Frankfurt, left a few with losing the dressing room. AVB not really a fan of. Favre too old for being a long time project.

Svensson is interesting.

Fischer: I like him very much, proved to be a good manager for teams in the bottom half and improve them with limited funds. Not really someone that developes players and tries young player. Also his play style is a bit of a mix between Dyche and Moyes.

Some running out in summer: Italiano at Fiorentina, Jagoba Arrastate at Osasuna.

What about Streich from Freiburg, like this guy very much. The question is whether he wants to go outside of his area, as he's been in this club for 30y.

He's at his last opportunity amongst 'the big boys' and as such he's simultaneously trying to stretch the job out, retain some credibility because his next jobs are dropping subsequent divisions until he reaches obscurity.

Let's be honest, he'll never be a pundit on telly. Too thick.
A bit harsh considering pundits of today...and on a guy trying to do a hard job with what he was left with

Yes, because we do, but in a lot of people's minds for some reason we have to limit ourselves to the backwoods of ex-Prem managers and "known names".

As I said 1000 times before - every time we say "how did Bielsa go to Leeds" and the likes - they actually tried and gave him the project and outline. No doubt our "scouting" only goes as far as our own backyard and the only time we tried was Ancelotti, who actually came here.

But it's fine if you think we can only get Benitez' and Lampard ex-prem types, for some self-imposed limiting reason.

I'd add Bielsa probably rightly clocked there would be no money, hence he wanted that arrangement where he worked with the academy/u23s team. A rare episode of forward thinking. Can't imagine him signing old father time Young to play high press footie for a start.

Oh well, Dyche it is.

Doubt Streich even manages again anytime soon - he's built up Freiburg himself and will probably take a break before going back to them in some capacity.

There are a lot of out of work managers.
Zidane is too as far as I'm aware, now I think he may be out of our budget so we need to find the next Zidane. One name that jumped out at me was this guy. 😉 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-cheyrou/profil/trainer/83886
