I have no problem with the club giving him some more time. He's been dealt a crappy hand with injuries and an inept board.
If his tactics are all the over the place after getting some players in and back from injuries then he definitely deserves to be scrutinised closer.
At the moment I think he's just been unlucky.

lol

How unlucky, selecting a winger to play up top because the striker is young or "not ready" (whatever the metric for that is).
How unlucky, having Michael Keane start AGAIN after the heaps of mistakes he's made.

Just like he was incredibly unlucky to pick and start Godfrey and Holgate repeatedly last year, and how he persists with starting Maupay, reasons mentioned above in the winger part already.

How unlucky, to have consequences for your poor decisions/actions. Truly shocking streak of luck.

I'm still in the crowd claiming that there will come nothing good from sacking him yet. Though i do agree he is not without criticism, like.

Now, the next five games are as easy as they come (bar Arsenal) and if we're at less than 9 points after the Bournemouth game in early October then the sack is it. That's my metric. Oh, and also please don't lose to Doncaster FFS.

The brief appearance of Chermitti showed what's wrong with the football SD is playing. The young lad kept running fast to press a Wolves defender who would pass the ball to another defender but that 2nd defender would have no one near him. The young lad was literally looking over to his teammates and asking them where they were. They of course were sitting deep. In response he would set off and try to press the second defender who of course would pass it to another defender who equally would be under no pressure. This defensive low block is dreadful - all the best teams are coached to press as a group.
Similarly Chermitti made a few runs in behind the defence. No chance anyone from a central position was going to pass it forwards. All they are coached to do is pass it out to the wing to try to get a cross in. It's so dated as a style of play and so predictable. I can't believe I'm saying this but I started feeling sorry for Maupay - playing CF in a Dyche team must be absolutely s**te. Presumably we've bought Chermitti in the hope we can sell him on for a huge profit if he's good. Absolutely no chance of that happening under SD. Feeding on scraps, his goalscoring stats stalling, and the fans getting on his back because they will blame him rather than SD, his confidence will likely crumble. Good luck to the lad - he's going to need the luck of a lottery winner to have anything like a successful career under SD.

If we’re less then 9 points by then we won’t recover.

10 home wins we need and 2 aways plus a few draws. We have 17 games left at home with 7 / 9 of those sides having the beating of us easily.

We are deep in the 💩 already.

If we crawl over the line this year, and if we're in any better financial state- jib him for a manager who actually is in any way tactically astute, and establish some pattern of play.
This doesn't mean that if he gets the plays in he wants and we dramatically improve I'd want him sacked.

Aye, and that's not factoring in anything like a points deduction which is to be decided around the 25th of october.

My guess is the certainty of our wrongdoings here might be what put the MSP deal off track.

Sure are dark times to be evertonians.

Has anyone noticed how he finds it impossible to make a declarative statement without then qualifying it?

"I like BIG sandwiches. Not always, but sometimes."

"I like a Kingfisher. Sometimes Cobra, but more often Kingfisher these days."

It's quite an unusual trait for someone as seemingly forthright as him. As if he's not as sure of himself as he likes to present.

I thought the same with his panicked subs on Saturday. A glimpse past the bravado.

Can't really win though can he. If he doesn't make those 'panicked subs' people are shouting at him for not making a sub.
