It's pretty sad the mods here are opinion fascists, and destroy anything that doesn't toe the company line. Thanks for the heads up, mate. I can see you are one of the good ones. I think a lot of the fanbase is so deep in their PTSD that they can't see the forest for the trees.
Couldn’t be further from the truth etc…..

Stick to that and you’re sound - it’s not hard.

And to think you all said no to Eddie Howe...

Shame on you.
Wasn't a fancy name at the time...facts are that he exceeded expectation time and time again at Bournemouth and now doing the same at newcaslte after a difficult start. Let's hope dyche can have the same success....not too dissimilar managers really.

When he is sacked, whenever that is, I hope we don’t end up with someone like Potter or Bielsa or anyone else who has been sacked as a PL manager. If they’ve been sacked before the way we are at the moment we’ll definitely give them another good sacking anyway so it’s just a waste of time and money.
Potter did an excellent job at Brighton though. Yes, Chelsea sacked him…but they’ve also sacked Ancelotti and Mourinho previously. Being sacked by Chelsea doesn’t mean you’re a bad manager.

But Howe’s Bournemouth side actually played some nice football at times. I might be wrong, but I’m sure I e heard that he was a boyhood Evertonian too, so he’d have been proud to manage us.
Not sure we ended up with a manager with a fancy name anyway.
I hope Dyche works out, but my gut feeling is that we should have gone for Howe.

We applauded him at the end of last season when he spoke candidly about us needing a sense of realism, and now you’ve got people calling for his head after 3 games.

We cannot afford to become a basket case club. When you start doing that you end up with managers with one eye on a big pay out ala Sunderland.
I understand the argument , but at the other end of the scale how long do you stick with a failing manager just to prove you aren’t a basket case ?
I suppose we just allow relegation to happen this time regardless and hope we can build anew from the Championship.
Which is fair enough if we are seriously planning for that eventuality now.
Do you think we are seriously planning for that eventuality?
( oh and by the way , I didn’t applaud him, I thought his comments were fatuous and condescending personally. We’ve been here for the entire journey and already know full well the problems we face, thank you very much Sean.
We just need him to do his job not lecture us on the realities of it . He gets paid enough.)

@davek

Challenge for any manager is that we don't have the cash to buy the players they may want for their system.

Potter excelled in a well run club with excellent recruitment - would he be able to handle this mess successfully ?

It's been a rubbish start from Dyche and the squad - I guess we'll see whether they can turn it around but I personally think he should get whatever recruits we can and until Christmas break.

Dyche himself has done well enough to get another middling contract elsewhere - will be interesting to see how much passion he has left for this particular job having been left without much support.
