Said it before, but I dont care about style.

He improved on last season and hes got us clear with plenty to spare, so for that reason he should be given a chance to see if he can do the same again.

Whilst we dont have money to pay our leccy bill, we probably dont have the luxury of sacking him and making an attractive package to somebody else.

So for now, In Dyche we Trust.

you’d be more insane than me to sack

after looking at the bigger picture anyway

Hoof ball,I remember the thrilling keep ball we had under Martinez we won the possession percentages week after week while sliding towards the trap door.No doubt we'll have to endure another window with a shoestring budget so Dyche is the safe hands we need. But as you say he's been labelled so it'll stick whatever he does.
That was phenomenal!

I think there should be a huge tribute to Sean on Saturday for what he has achieved this season. He doesn't get enough love I reckon.

1 - You can't say that it wouldn't due to resources
2 - If he's successful and getting points on the board...why is it an issue?

Here's one...

Iraola at Bournemouth is shortlisted for manager of the season. Currently 10th on 48 points.

Dyche has accumulated 45 points this season, 3 points shy of him currently.

Do you know how much Bournemouth spent this season?
As I've said before in this thread, that's ok if the club's ambition is mid table safety and dour football, it really depends on the ambition of then new owners of they want to build and progress, then they really need to consider Dyche's position. If, on the other hand, they are content with the staying in the league, moving to Bramley Moore and selling us on for a profit, thenDyche may well be just the job for them.

Laughing.

They won the league with 93 points, no team scored more than them but "pffft, 12th for possession" - whether that's true or not, I don't know. But c'mon, behave.

He joined Burnley in October or when they were in the Championship sat 14th. He got them promoted that same season/immediately - in 2nd place too. They went right back down as favourites to do so. He got them promoted again as and kept them up against the odds for a very long time and even had a season in Europe despite not having a pot to piss in - think it was £9m net per season during his spell there. Kompany spent more than Dyche did in 8 years in one summer.

You were talking about the style of football. It was effective, no disputing that.
But ask a Burnley fan, the football was still pragmatic with lots of long balls and set piece goals.
That won’t change with Dyche and people pretending it will is just odd.

Means to an end and what the goal of the team and club is...which is what @GrandOldTeam alludes to.

"Played crap hoofball at Burnley"

Burnley's entire net spend under Dyche was about £30mill. The goal of the club was to stay in the premier league under less means than every other club in it. Look at Burnley now having spent £100mill to play football "the right way". Another example are Brighton had to spend £100+mill to survive in the league playing football the right way.

You cannot label a manager to say "he won't change" when he's never had the tools to attempt change. All he's ever had is finding a way to stay in the premier league with limited resources. And for the most part ..it's worked.
It’s more than 30mil,
Think it’s closer to 80mil amd
While that isn’t a lot of money, 10yrs is still enough time even with limited funds to change a style.

Just listening to toffee TV and that Andy McGregor was on there who’s an Everton fan and works in recruitment and he has said and believe him or not, that Dyche wants a particular type of player , no point us buying 3/4 young players with potential from abroad for 10mil like Chermiti. Because he won’t play them, he wants big, strong battled hardened players, who will be on board with the plan, he said that’s the reason he hasn’t played danjuma because he hasn’t showed in training he will do the hard yards as he says. Andy also said, which is obvious to me, he wants his full backs to sit back and stay at home, he’s not going for full backs who will be flying forward

I suppose it also puts to bed, if you believe Andy. That Thelwell buys the players and Dyche has to work with what he’s given

Whatever you think of the style of play etc. Dyche has done well in keeping us up last two seasons with all kinds of issues going on off the pitch. The way things are shaping up he might need to perform another miracle next season, minus a some of our better players. Good luck to him. He’s going to need it

Dyche on his 18 games last season averaged 1.19 points per game, this season so far on 36 games is in 1.25 points per game a small improvement with a better squad a more settled team.

Last season Gary O’Neil who people said did a great job averaged a point a game. Iraola on 36 games 1.33 points per game and Bournemouth play much better football than us, let’s see how he does next season.

And yes Bournemouth have spent some money, but if Like a bet our starting 11 most weeks cost more, though dyche and the last couple of managers haven’t spent fortunes we still have some expensive players

Burnley were 4th favourite to go down that season.

He's never had a top team, or the money to recruit players.

He found a way to get them promoted without spending, and a way to keep them up as long as he did - without spending.

[Edit] I've no clue on Burnleys style of football in the championship. But I do know he overachieved their expectations.

Well he got relegated the following season. I was actually referring to his 2nd promotion with Burnley tbh, when he had decent players.

I’m not knocking his achievements btw, but the football is old fashioned and won’t change. Some people like that, I get it.

Never spent any money then though did they? Was a team struggling in the championship under Howe I think? He went in. Promoted. Same team. Went back down?

£100mill isn't "some money"

He gives the spiel about how he would have spent money better than previous managers...

...then leaks that Coleman wants to continue playing

If he stays on then thats a black mark on Dyche.
