2023/24 Sean Dyche

He gives the spiel about how he would have spent money better than previous managers...

...then leaks that Coleman wants to continue playing

If he stays on then thats a black mark on Dyche.
Absolutely brain dead from the club to offer a contract extension. Not sure if the fault lies with Dyche or Thelwell.

Never spent any money then though did they? Was a team struggling in the championship under Howe I think? He went in. Promoted. Same team. Went back down?
But not to change the Style or philosophy in 10yrs says it all
Moyes has no money but he improved Everton and the style and kept looking to upgrade the players

Moyes had a much bigger club, every season his objective wasn't remain in the league and could spend money. It makes a difference.

Moyes was also given time. You'd have had him sacked when he finished 17th.

It’s more than 30mil,
Think it’s closer to 80mil amd
While that isn’t a lot of money, 10yrs is still enough time even with limited funds to change a style.

Just listening to toffee TV and that Andy McGregor was on there who’s an Everton fan and works in recruitment and he has said and believe him or not, that Dyche wants a particular type of player , no point us buying 3/4 young players with potential from abroad for 10mil like Chermiti. Because he won’t play them, he wants big, strong battled hardened players, who will be on board with the plan, he said that’s the reason he hasn’t played danjuma because he hasn’t showed in training he will do the hard yards as he says. Andy also said, which is obvious to me, he wants his full backs to sit back and stay at home, he’s not going for full backs who will be flying forward

I suppose it also puts to bed, if you believe Andy. That Thelwell buys the players and Dyche has to work with what he’s given

My mistake - 6 years £68mill net. Then take into consideration the club - Burnley. Kompany fir example brought in "footballers" because he's Vincent Kompany and his connections in the Belgian league. And again, why change a style when it's working and you've not funds to make a big improvement?

Dyche on record has said he and Thelwell work together. He's also said he's there to improve youth - recently rolling off how he feels he's improved/improved the younger lads like Garner, Myko, brought Dobbin in, actually played Chermitti when he looks "ready" etc. So to say he doesn't "want" I don't see the evidence of that.

And just because he wants big hardened players, doesn't mean he wouldn't want them playing football. Jose made a career out of the same mentality. And "on board with the plan" means listening to instructions doesn't it? Danjuma barely played for Spurs too which says more about his ability and attitude than anything.

Fullbacks...again he likes them to defend, but it's not like he won't want them to attack. Look at Myko start of the season. His stats still show for shots and crosses he's up there with the best in the league attack wise. And if you look now..."flying" fullbacks looks to be going out the window for more introverted fullbacks that end up in midfield.

The whole point really is...until he's had funds to actually make improvements, you can't say he'll never change

We’re taking about 2 managers, With Hardly any money, one improved his team over the time and onto the point where he left,
The other didn’t and they eventually got worse and they got relegated and he did get sacked

Comparing Moyes and Everton, to Dyche and Burnley?

The difference in clubs and circumstances makes the comparison a bit useless.

Their fans hold Dyche in higher esteem than ours do Moyes.

That says it all.

Still not a fortune and the Squad was a lot weaker than ours. Their starting 11 v Brighton a game they won 3 -0 was about 110mil with not much on the bench,
They do have a few injuries. Ours v Luton about 100mil and we had over 100mil on our bench

You're tying yourself up in knots here pal.

You're on about changing a "style". Iraola spent £100mill net to implement his style. Dyche £37mill.

Dyche is 3 points behind him. When Dyche had £100mill to do whatever he wants to do then the question of what style of football he'd play will be answered.

Thats not true at all

Dyche's is on record saying that Burnley wasn't a fashionable club and they had to get academy rejects, failed and broken players. Then if a deal was right bring in some flair.

Moyes was swimming in a different pool.

He's clearly a decent manager.

Horrid, horrid football though. Moyes' last few seasons with us are 10x what we're seeing.

That being said, the squad Moyes had assembled by that time was pretty damn good.

Going off the list of left backs this season for the top clubs....hes more shots than Robertson, more crosses than Gvardiol,

More shots and crosses that Kiwior, more shots and goals than Digne....
Just out curiosity how many of those shots came from open play? I mean James Tarkowski had 25 shots and Mykelenko had 26
