2023/24 Sean Dyche

He changed his tune from last season. At the end of the season it was "time for Everton to start acting like a big club again". Now it's "what do you expect" and "fans need to be realistic". Scott parker got binned for saying the same at Bournemouth and Gary O'Neill completely turned them round.
WhT did dyche say?

Keeping him in my eyes is just prolonging the inevitable.

There's an international break now, this is the best time to make a management change.
There's a big difference to where we were going under lampard and how we are doing under Dyche.
With Lampard we were averaging under a goal a game xg and this was even with most his players available. Under dyche we have performed really well with xg this season in all but the villa game. We have had double our opponents against Fulham and sheff utd and more than wolves.

There are positives to look at which should turn the tide. They are the return of Mcneil to full fitness. Beto has looked very good in his first 2 starts and looks like just what we needed. Those two players should make a big difference to us. If we can put mcneil consistently on the right we can then move garner into right back which should settle our defence as Patterson has been very poor so far this season.

The general consensus is he has to go reading all the comments, but the reality is the board aren't going to sack him certainly not this early on. Look how long it took to Lampard the bullet, he is here for the foreseeable!

The only argument in my eyes for him staying is that we've missed the window to change manager and it would take way too long for:

1. The board to dither about and appoint another manager

2. Said manager to implement his style with players he didn't bring in.

The time to do it was straight after last season, Bournemouth did it despite O'Neil doing a better job than Dyche.

I just find him dead annoying and if you're gonna play pragmatic footy, you better get results and he doesn't.

But I do agree with what you're saying.
At least give a chance to see what he can do with a proper centre forward. How many games has he managed when DCL was available? There's no arguing against the fact that the team is creating enough chances to win games - we could quite easily be on seven points now if only there had been a reliable goalscorer available. I don't think he's the manager we need in the long run but I'm confident he'll make sure we play our first game in the new stadium still a Premier League team.

I'm talking about last season. He was at the helm when we were in 'serious relegation danger' as you put it.

Yeah but last season wasn't exactly his fault was it?
He came in with the objective to save the club from relegation and he did it.

This season, a full one under Dyche will be different, despite an indifferent start.
