As I said in the Myko thread, good man management to encourage the lad to get forward. I have seen too many years where our managers just didn’t even bother coaching Holgate and he never improved. Dyche REALLY made it a point and I like that.

Yeah I suppose but 17th place isn't progression mate even 16th doesn't feel or seem like that. He ain't getting us above 12th maximum which a team by our own standard should be above. We aren't as bad as bad as we are being set up to be agree or disagree

Couldn't possibly disagree more

We should be above 12th? A team which has avoided relegation at more or less the death in two successive seasons?

Dunno where your logic comes from mate, but I'd love to understand why you think our "standard" is above 12th

….despite some low points this season, I’ve generally been ok with Dyche.

I think there are lazy myths about ‘hoofball’, ‘won’t play youngsters’, ‘Dyche fit’ & ‘playing his favourites’. Perhaps a bit of snobbery that he shouldn’t manage Everton.

Yesterday demonstrated we can get players into attacking positions, and create. Its key to me when I watch my side that we carry some threat, and I’ve generally seen that with Dyche. I think his team selection is pragmatic, he’ll select what he thinks is his best team and filters out the poor performers.

He might just see us safe again, I certainly wouldn’t be looking for change.

Notice the "we miss iwobi" shouts evaporated yest.
We got the ball forward yest and generally quick in doing so. It was a play to your strengths game and i agree in no issue with that. Players going into challenges to win it and not slowing any attack down. No iwobi. Better chance that game plan works.

What??? You’re telling me we can create chances without captain creativity, the most creative player outside the top 6?!?!?!???’n

He's definitely still not the man to take us forward regardless of how well we played today. Grateful for the great performance today but one in 6 isn't great. As they say you can roll a turd and cover it in glitter however it's still a turd
So just to be sure. Is it Everton that’s the turd in this metaphor? And it is dyche covering it in glitter?

….it helps that McNeil is getting up to speed but I also noticed Gueye doing plenty of running in possession. We miss Iwobi’s running power but perhaps others are being encouraged to be braver in possession.

I thought the Danjuma substitution for Onana was interesting, not least because Garner was impressing Dyche enough to see out the game in a central midfield position. With Harrison becoming available, I expect it’ll give Dyche more scope to try and get that midfield balance right.

The next 4 games will be same old Dyche doing everything wrong and playing for a 0:0 from the 1st minute.

That's my prediction, which I hope is wrong, but the slug has a habit of being like this.
Against Luton and Bournemouth at home? Does the Arsenal performance sum up your opinion of the season so far? For want of a centre forward we'd have ten points, not four.

As for calling Dyche a slug, I'd like to see you say it to his face!

I mean people keep bringing this up as if it’s irrefutable fact but Beto has also missed sitters in the games he’s played.
