I'm gonna preface this post first of all by saying that I thought we were much, much better today and I deffo enjoyed the win as much as any other blue..

What I will say though is this - how utterly frustrating is this set of players??

Loads of people, including myself, questioned the starting XI today and rightly so. It was the same team that started the Arsenal game just with Garner instead of Danjuma - so naturally even more 'negative', at least on paper. Even the pundits on Sky picked up on it..

Yet what we saw today was a completely different side. One that barely allowed Brentford a chance to settle throughout most of the game and actually broke forward with a bit of quality and an actual idea of what we wanted to do... so it genuinely begs the question what on earth happened against Arsenal?? what is stopping these players from executing such a gameplay every single week??

Clearly the modern game is as much about mentality as it is about actual skill. Why did those players clearly believe that a win today was possible where it wasn't against Arsenal??
Because Arsenal play a different style to Brentford and can punish you much worse. It's about quality really

Some in here will never see positives while Dyche is in charge. Almost creeping into being happier to see us lose so they can be right on the internet territory.

Tactics were positive. Players gave him a performance. Good win away at what should be a comfortable mid table side.

Players definitely gave him a performance today. That is a very important observation as well.

He's definitely still not the man to take us forward regardless of how well we played today. Grateful for the great performance today but one in 6 isn't great. As they say you can roll a turd and cover it in glitter however it's still a turd

I think it depends on the context of what you mean by take us forward. Is he capable of improving upon a season where we finished 17th and stayed up on the last day? I think he is. My idea has always been he steadies the ship and avoids another relegation battle then gets his chance to move us up against next year.

We just have to come to terms with the fact we've ran out of road with managers. Dyche could easily be as good as we could get right now.

Yeah I suppose but 17th place isn't progression mate even 16th doesn't feel or seem like that. He ain't getting us above 12th maximum which a team by our own standard should be above. We aren't as bad as bad as we are being set up to be agree or disagree

If he gets this side to 12th then he has done a very good job. We need to accept that these standards you and I have exist only in our heads these days. We're a club that has had back to back relegation battles, and haven't won anything for nearly 30 years.

Must admit i was starting to get nervous. 1 point from 15 in what wasnt the toughest start was shocking. I dont know if brentford were just off it today or we were good. I dont care tbh. We just needed the boost of a win. Next two games will take it up to 8 games but in that 8 there are at least 6 games you would look when the fixtures come out as points gained. So we really need to bag those points against luton and bournemouth as thats a big chunk of winnable games already gone.
