I was pleased he came in, thought it was a good fit and he deserved the chance. Alarm bells for me that he took it to the wire last year, I will always say that group of players was individually better “on paper” than more than 3 other teams. The Dyche/Burnley stereotype effect didn’t happen and we were still losing comfortably in soft games in EXACTLY the same way we had been previously. But we scraped over the line and heard talk of hard work, more time to bed style and expectations with a full pre-season etc.
I fully admit to normally being one to stall too long on sacking managers. But based on the evidence of last season where we had a couple of big wins but the rest was still trash, and today being the worst Dyche performance to date, what are we supposed to do here????
Now do we say wait till McNeil fit, or Dom back again, or Chermiti, or Harrison? Or maybe wait til the Inernational break so he can really drill the players not away on his tactics and requirements? Or wait til Xmas?
We won’t be sacking him for a while, but crikey, if we have zero points after Wolves, we will start to get stick for not sacking him. I think he might walk first, bonus or not.
