Next steps:

1. The fans turn on him for revealing the ugly truth
2. Atmosphere at Goodison slides
3. Booing
4. The players confidence drops and the team suffers as a result
5. Fans call for his sacking
6. Manager gets replaced
7. The same problems persist
8. Go back to 2 and repeat

Get him gone!!!

Wow. Got to admire this post. Top of the table and unbeaten arteta is a boring clone and Everton are one of the most exciting teams in the league.

I had to read that twice just in case i misread it.
When some people write, "no one plays like that anymore", well, I don't want to play like everyone else. It's boring. Variety is the spice of life. Onana can't play football like Rodri, etc. Onana is Onana and Rodri is Rodri.

The match between Arsenal and Manchester City yesterday was a match between two managers who think about football almost exactly the same, have owners with big wallets, and who don't want to take any risks. It was perhaps one of the most boring matches in PL's history.

These two managers, and their underlying philosophy (positional play) are the prism under which we evaluate all football. It is the fishbowl of this time . Everyone wants to play football this way, and those who don't are outdated dinosaurs.

The tributes are endless, even if the majority of their matches are a pain to watch - unless it's a cure for insomnia. Guardiola and Arteta are geniuses who tactically outclass their competitors. Long analyzes are written about philosophy and history, etc. Few talk about the differences in the budgets, because then the illusion can burst.

Dyche is one of the few managers in the PL who has a philosophy that is not based on a poor copy of positional play, Cruyff, Guardiola etc., but is based on the elements I mentioned. That doesn't mean he's brilliant, but he's authentic and original. It also makes Everton a different and entertaining team to watch.

Everton 0-1 Fulham L - 0
Aston Villa 4-0 Everton L - 0
Everton 0-1 Wolves L - 0

Sheff Utd 1-1 Everton D - 1
Everton 0-1 Arsenal - L - 0
Brentford 1-3 Everton - W - 3
Everton 1-2 Luton - L - 0
Everton 3-0 Bournemouth - W - 3

7 points from those games, with 4 defeats on the spin at home, Losing to Fulham, Wolves and Luton at home in particular is a killer.

We needed a few more points on the board before the next run of games to take the pressure off.

*glances at the fixture list*

After pissing away the opportunity we had with that start, we'd do well to be 17th come Christmas.
