I care how many points we have each week i want to see us do well. I do not want to go into the last set of games for another season again looking at scores working out how much we need to stay uo. This is what the team has done to me

EIther a wum or i dont know what you're blabbering on about. Why would Everton not be that bothered about points total before Xmas. We're not remotely good enough not to be bothered.

How can a team competing to win the league say "screw it, points don't matter, as long as our xG looks good"? You have a warped sense of reality as it applies to winning. Big clubs don't like dropping points because every one of them is important regardless of what week in the season it is.

Move along and stop harping on about stats that don't improve our league position

Hahaha what is this

The part in bold is just a flat out lie. If you honestly believe that than you're just as deluded as Dyche.

I'm somebody and care what points Everton have in week 8 as much as week 38. So you're "nobody cares" doesn't quite work. And I'm sure there are other blues in here who also care.

What @PeregrineT wrote was no one cares how many pts you have after 8 games vs 38.

This is the same as saying clubs care far more about their pts after 38 games rather than 8.

Which would be facfually correct.

Who wants to be 1st after 8 games but 20th after 38?

So hes right in what hes posted.

Maybe I was onto something with that collecting to write a memoir, Dyche did say in that podcast, 'Maybe I had one book, now I have three books since coming here'.

Our manager needs to shut out the stats guy out the room temporarily, so he doesn't say, 'Our xG is right up there for the last 8 years'. Someone needs to tell him our points total is way down there comparable for multiple decades even.

Did you write this mate? If so well done.

Everton should be as high as fifth

Regarding the xG shouting from Dyche and his supporters, are we forgetting that we have kept one clean sheet so far this season in 10 games we've played against some really poor teams excluding Villa Arsenal, so that tells me we are poor at both ends of the pitch.

The graph above is based on xG, so you could be getting battered every game but get 2-3 good chances that you don't take therefore your xG would be high but that's not an indication of how the team is performing as a whole.

Also our ball retention is poor and that's a combination of the style of play/tactics and also the players.

If my Auntie had balls etc. Also, we've played Fulham, Bournemouth, Luton and Wolves at home.

With the fixtures we’ve had compared to them we should definitely not have less than half the points that they’ve got. See how we stack up against them after our next run of fixtures and theirs.

The problem we have is we will probably get an 'unexpected' 3 points from somewhere over the next run of games but it will be followed by a home defeat to Burnley say.

Yeah I'll stress, I didn't write the headline for this - but in fairness it's not fair off.

The fixtures thing, and I note this in the piece, we've had the easiest start. So it has to be taken into context. Litmus test is the next few games.

However, will add that those next games are in the main against teams who will have more of the ball, which we like.

Yeah of course the end is the most important but as i said i care each week because i want us clear this season. I dont want to worry is why i care after 8 games and with the teams we have played i dont want a slow start just want us clear from the bottom 3

It's also based on xGA (expected goals against). The team is performing well in xG and not bad in xGA, but they are still not scoring enough and they're giving away some big chances.

Ball retention is poor and in games/periods of games when we need to control the ball, there has to be a big improvement.
