What top managers we comparing Dyche to this criteria then?

And you're talking once in a blue moon. Jose used to do it to show who's the boss at a new club. A gaffer making mass changes at half time is when you have quality competition on the bench to do that. And how many times did it pan out? Lots of factors and variables to say that's what "top managers do".

And if they do...they've never ever managed at Everton.

De Zerbi made 4 changes at half time last season against us. Still got pumped 5.1.
1. Im not comparing any top manager to dyche
2. Like I said, sometimes a change of system or personnel can have an impact regard of quality
3. Exactly, De Zerbi made changes because they were getting hammered. It didn’t work but he knew it originally wasn’t working and needed changing; rather than just sitting am there and shrugging shoulders

Both of those were lined up by Brands prior to him leaving the club. I do think its harsh to label Patterson "shocking" the lads still developing although for me he needs a loan move to the championship to learn his trade.

My point was - since Benitez and the infamous summer of £1.7m spend we've spent more money and gone backwards which myself and a few others like @Saint Domingo warned people about yet it was easy for us to be labelled as happy clappers.

You dont sack a manager unless there are better replacements out there to come in and replace the man who's leaving. We sacked Benitez and had that problem and we'll have the same problem if we chase Dyche out the door prematurely.

If the club had dough / was going places then then by all means go get on the blower to Mancini but he aint coming ere in our current situation.

Brands wanted Dumfries - Benitez refused to have him.

Mylo was a result of Benitez hating Digne and putting the team in a terrible situation.

I don't want him to be sacked and he won't be, of course, but he's also just really not very good. Some fans really overrate him as some misunderstood genius. He's exactly what he is and always has been - a very average manager. But he's not even doing what he's supposed to be good at, right now.
This nails it

Not when he started Maupay then starts Keane both games with Branthwaite available.

Dyche done his job keeping us up. He is a very limited manager. Thank you goodbye. Potter should be given the job now before the window shuts.

When is the time to sack Dyche? If he loses the next 3 probably already be down, Leicester lost 6 on the bounce and never recovered.

The guys pre season was crap his tactics are crap. We keep sacking mangers and bringing worse in. Silva is a better manger. Rafael nearly killed the club. Lampard was a joke. Potter is a top manager go get him.
How is Potter a top manager?

Chelsea he was garbage and the current Brighton manager is making him look bang average.

Reminds me of Mike Walker.

OK shaun..answer me this...
Is it our tactics to have front men press but the midfielders sat in a line on halfway allowing villa midfield to drop easily and receive ball?
Is it your tactics to have left and right back playing so narrow that opposition have miles of space and time out wide?
Is it our tactics to drop absolutely everyone back in our own box on corners and not be ready for opposition to play short balls and create possibilities from there?
Are the players encouraged to see a problem happening and adjust, or do they have to wait for your talk at halftime to change things?
What type of team are we? Are we a physical team, high tempo, press, sit back, long ball, passing team..what the [Poor language removed] is our brand of football????

When he took us over, like many of us did I watched those “Masterclass” podcast videos on “The Coache’s Voice” YouTube channel. I thought to myself at the time “maybe he’s actually a pretty astute manager after all, and just needs a chance to show what he can do…”

Starting to feel a little bit foolish with myself now. In his short time here he’s already shown himself up a few times to be very lacking with regards to starting line-ups, substitutions, insistence on using certain players and tactical changes during matches. Sorry, but he’s coming across as the very dinosaur that some were accusing him of being. He really doesn’t help himself at times.
