2023/24 Sean Dyche

I do think he could have changed things earlier in the second half. We just needed to frustrate City more, we didnt do that second half.

Got it absolutely spot on in the first half and a combination of quality and poor refereeing (corruption) took the game away.

We ain't good when we have to chase, especially without Doucoure
I think we tired massively second half too. We also don't have anything like their options on the bench.

Dyche is doing a really good job. Truth is, our squad is way behind the likes of City etc, in terms of talent and technical ability. I do think the worse is behind us (fingers crossed) in terms of genuine concerns of being relegated.
Despite the result yesterday, I'm really liking the work he's doing with the squad.

The whole media 442, kick and rush "Dycheball" needs kicking into the bin, too. I can't remember him starting a 442 at Everton, we very rarely lump it for the sake of it to advance up the pitch and attack. We play some good football.

Yes, we sometimes welly it out of defence for safety's sake but we're also capable of playing out. (we even played out of trouble several times against the 'World Champions' and looked perfectly calm doing so. Sadly, brain farts like the third goal will occasionally happen.)

Biggest thing for me is we generally have a good go:

Anfield away, great effort, arguably shafted by the ref, could have resulted in at least a draw.

UTD at home, battered them. Didn't let a freak goal rock us back and crumble, front foot, aggressive play for the majority of the game when we had possession.

Spurs away, again... No fear. Should have been a point.

City last night. A fingertip away from 2 nil. Yes, their quality shone through in the end but there's no shame in that.

I'm enjoying this version of Everton far more than ANY Moyes version. Moyes built a great team towards the end, but he was a serial loser and never had the bollocks to have a proper go. We'd go out against the 'big' teams with the hope of a point and invariably end up with nothing.

I'd be more than happy to extend his deal.

As many will have read on the BBC page

"The former Burnley boss' copybook against Pep now reads: played 18, won zero, drawn one, lost 17.

In those meetings, Dyche's sides have conceded 52 goals and scored five, including Harrison's here."

Says it all. At best we've a Moyes mark 2 on our hands.

Dyche isn't up to the job. As soon as we are safe he needs to go.

You're nuts. We did not have a go last night. Hoof. And scramble. Repeat. Hope to gain a set piece. Hoof. Scramble.

You realise other teams have given City a real go this year?

We looked like a League 1 team against them

Haha we couldve been 2 up, theyre gifted a pen to make it 2-1, and we couldve beaten Spurs, prior to those games we were absolutely flying, bet you were dead silent as well.

Based on where we should be, were 10th 2 pts off the 'mighty' Newcastle, who we also battered 3-0, should be within a shout of europa/conference league
