2024/25 Sean Dyche

Not so bothered about how we setup to play currently. Just he can't get a team fit to start season. Clearly has an issue with fans. That poor connection with most of the fan base will make it very easy to move him out of the club, it's when not if. Great solice in that.

I am in sales which is very target and outcome based.

The best mentor/ trainer I had said something to me that really effected the way I approached everything and it worked.

When moving onto commsion only pay.. I was working out how many sales a year I needed to survive , pay bills etc.

It worked out at around 6-7 sales a year. ( real estate)

He said that if you know your low number , it will form bad habits as when you think like that your mind will subconsciously settle for poor results and behaviours as long as you are meeting the target or are on track.

He was right, he then asked where I wanted to be and I said 40 sales a year. We put together a plan and sechdule and tasks and review dates and I will not hit 40 this year … but I hit 36.

If dyche is aiming for 4 points or 1.1 points a game for example … after a win he can afford not to gat any from the next 2 and still be on track … or he can not attack for the next 2 and if he gets even one draw he is “ahead”

Having low standards is infectious and is basically a “loser” or in his case “ don’t lose the game” mentality… and if his targets are based on getting 40 points or finishing 17th…

We can easily fail… other teams can get more than 40 points…. Injuries can effect games, referees , constant mind numbing football will have an effect on players and them “buying into” the strategy , the fans will get fed up and eventually turn , which effects the players on match day and can actually help the opposition.

I’m not saying he should be doing what bobby brown shoes and kompany were doing at Wigan and burnley and expect players like Titus bramble to pass the ball around like prime benkenbaur … but chaining your full back to the corner flag and having your wingers playing as full back while playing defensive midfleilders as number 10’s is taking safety first to the extreme and shows how limited and clueless he actual is
We got 12 more points than the team in 17th last season. 8 more than 40 points.

Who would have done a better job with hands tied behind him. Players sold for a profit but nothing invested in to the playing squad.
Having to play Youngy. As we have no other full backs fit.

Only Allardyce or Pulis could get a song out of these players and play to their strength like Dyche has.

Correct. Which is what makes this whole “I’d take 17th now lad” thing all the more bizarre. We are a mid table side, which hasn’t weakened any more than it’s mid table peers last season, with apparently a really good manager, so why have our expectations dropped off so much?

We have the defenders we need to defend against the vast majority of teams in this league. Look what happened last season with the same set of defenders: we had the 4th tightest defensive record.

We have the personnel to play both ways, of course. But we have to pick and choose which ones we go for in an attacking sense: B'mouth at home made sense to dominate the game and attack the opposition (a game we should easily have won); Newcastle at home it didn't make sense to and we didn't and got a creditable draw.

Dyche's job is to get enough points to keep us up. He's dong that and until he isn't I dont feel inclined to get shut of him, because we all know from recent memory just how perilously close other managers took us to the brink.

Dave , you constantly spout about how crap DCL is … and I agree . And how we should be aiming for better etc and you are constantly saying things ( I’m paraphrasing here) that are inline with “ we are Everton and should better”

You are saying that last season we had the 4th best defence … which is true . Other teams have improved , our rb is now 39 and Keane is now getting game time … it’s not the same defence anymore .

Dyche was brought in to keep us in the league … well he done that in his first 6 months ….

Then again last year….

So the target is the same this year?

Shouldn’t every year be to improve ? Build? Evolve ? Change ? At least try to do any of those things?

He’s changed nothing from an attacking point of view … hasn’t developed any players to improve them.

He has just resigned all the old has beens that he picks every week and played the same team , formation and style that he has always played .

He still Relies on corners , still can’t set a team up to win within the first weeks of a season , doesn’t have the players fit for the first game , and will not drop players that are costing us points unless he is forced too.

There is no point in backing him with funds in January …. Therefore we are better off getting someone new in and giving them time to change the style, learn the squad and then back them with funds … unless you feel we won’t need to strengthen in January as we will not be in the bottom 4-5?

If that’s the case keep him… but 5 points from 7 games without having the worst fixtures in the world … is less than a point a game and has us finishing on 35 points …. You think that’s good enough ?

If not… then make the call now and change it

Yes however injuries was always going to be a concern. If he was going to keep Keane and loan out holgate I would have used the Jake money on a left and or right back. Those are the positions we have been done with so far this season. January is going to be so important.

Hopefully we can keep Jarad and go and sign some players to help in those positions.

Different season now mate .. different teams , our defence wasn’t shining 3 goals a game for 4 games in a row last year but it already has now

Us evertonians love living in the past …

He is a dinosaur and is hoping that there are 3 worse teams than us is not proactive and will eventually get us relagated .

I don’t want to come across as slagging of fellow blues … but people who tolerate him , lampard, Rafael , kenwright etc are a huge part of the problem.

Look at the stick ten hag gets …. The media are all over him and spouting how Man U are the biggest club in the world bs…. People believe it.

The same media don’t attack dyche and say “he’s the perfect man for the job” and I feel a lot of our fan base believe that bs too

How many players can you honestly say that he has improved in his time with us, Braithwaite improved at P S V.
I thought he was getting a song out of Mykolenko, but injuries have played doubt to that.

McNeil improves under the gaffer.

Whether he improves players. I don't know. He Deffinately gets hard work and hard miles out of his players.

Would be a breath of fresh air if one of these supposed “journo’s” could take their nose out of his butt and just ask him why his football style is absolute turgid dross that makes people want to stab their eyes with a knife
From what I can gather from various journalists on podcasts, if you annoy him you get nothing but silly responses out of him. It's their bread and butter to get something useful out of him or you loose the gig i would imagine.
