2024/25 Sean Dyche

No I didn’t at all, I responded directly to that comment?

Why does it matter if they hate Dyche or not? You’re adding your own context that isn’t even relevant now.

Because you’ve been trying to make out that supporters of Dyche have lowered their expectations to avoid criticising him. If it’s the opponents of Dyche who have lowered their expectations then maybe you should be asking them.

unforgivable this is what it’s like for the last season at goodison
psst....that's not because of Dyche.

I'm sick of having to repeat this. The club has been run into the ground over the past decade. More and more poor decisions and dodgy dealings have got us here. Not Dyche. Our top scorers and assisters just 4 years ago was Richarlison, Digne, Sigurdsson, DCL and James Rodriguez. All but one has left and we didn't improve on them.

Before Dyche came in, we were getting relegated. It's not even on Lampard. Or Rafael. Or Big Sam. It's the owners and running of the club.

I'm so bored of fans crying that it's our last season at Goodison, so what? Carlo should come back and get the boys back together. We've been mismanaged and this is what happens. It's why some of us walked out to protest. But the majority stayed and mocked us. Well, here's the thing we feared and tried to stop from happening.

Tbh mate, if they were serious about keeping him, they'd almost certainly have extended his contract. That they haven't, tells me they want their own man, which is fair enough. Probably best all round that we start with a clean slate going into BMD.

Agreed and there is zero justification in keeping him long term.

Great post mate, the club has been and is where it is based wholly on its own rank performance - its been run as a shambles.

I have a wry smile on my face at the irony of people saying we're a mid table team - we proved last season that we can achieve that midtable outcome with this manager, so the reason for that expectation is based on his performance and him achieving an outcome, he's fed the rising expectation through achievement - job done.

The club on how its been run, absolutely doesn't deserve to be any where near midtable, its deserves to be in the championship in truth, its a total skip fire.

Mate why are you making out like you know something no one else knows or that it’s some big secret ? Of course this is all on the board

Dyche shouldn’t get a pass because the board is rubbish both can be (and are) crap and actually suit each other

No one should ever get a pass - everyone is accountable, but the vast majority of this forum in the poll last year viewed survival as a realistic goal.

Most are saying now we are a mid table team - expectations have been raised, informed I'm sure on a non-deduction finish of what 11th or so - its logical to conclude therefore that the manager has actually raised expectations - if a manager is doing that, that's evidance of a good job.

Mix that in, with the context of the club and how its being run financially, we posted a £90 mill + loss in our last set of accounts, continue to asset strip and have negative net spends per window.

One thing doesn't match the other.

i haven’t seen many claiming us to be a mid table team to be honest , think most would have been thankful with a relatively stress free season wich is not really that much to ask but instead it’s been a disaster so far

I was being lazy, just did it myself.

0.57 points per game at this stage last season.
0.71 points per game this season.

Opposition have been more difficult this season, too.
I’ve been looking at the equivalent fixtures from last season. Granted there’s other variables that come into into in terms of form going into games, morale etc.

But if we take the same fixtures from last season (swapping Leicester for Burnley as both had come up as champions).

Last season: 11 points, 11 scored and 8 conceded.
This season: 5 points, 7 scored and 15 conceded.

6 points down from equivalent fixtures last year is a big drop off already and means there’s less room for error in the games against those around us (like when we dropped points vs Luton last year etc)

The inconvenient truth

Dyche takes us from 2nd worst team in the league to 48 points within 18 months

GOT crybabies: ‘You’ve lowered expectations’

The club being on fire and selling the majority of our better players year after year is apparently ‘no excuse’ for what happens on the pitch. Literally couldn’t make it up.

When the Friedkins come in and spend a load of money in the transfer windows getting us actual fullbacks who can cross a ball, centre backs who can run quickly, and forwards who can actually score, I can’t wait for all the ‘see it was Dyche holding us back all those years’
