2024/25 Sean Dyche

The inconvenient truth

Dyche takes us from 2nd worst team in the league to 48 points within 18 months

GOT crybabies: ‘You’ve lowered expectations’

The club being on fire and selling the majority of our better players year after year is apparently ‘no excuse’ for what happens on the pitch. Literally couldn’t make it up.

When the Friedkins come in and spend a load of money in the transfer windows getting us actual fullbacks who can cross a ball, centre backs who can run quickly, and forwards who can actually score, I can’t wait for all the ‘see it was Dyche holding us back all those years’

I know a lot are, but personally I wouldn’t be assuming this at all.

I don’t think it will be a load either. PS&R will still restrict us somewhat regardless. I’m just hoping there might be some extra headroom thanks to the stadium and refinancing to at least allow us to spend a bit more on some key areas.

Selling our best players and replacing them with cheap players whose clubs don’t require an upfront payment is an equation that eventually will lead to disaster.

Are yous two trying to outdo each other here ?

But we finished 12th last season with the same ownership and financial backing.
So what? If we finish 15th or 16th this term, how is that a step-change from 12th last season (which we didn't finish in, for obvious reasons)? It's just another nothing season of survival. This manager is not winning us anything - not with this squad and not with a new one. He's gone come summer at the latest. This season is a time-serving one, a banana skin to be avoided. We're stuck in limbo until the new money comes in and the manager gets punted.

So, all in all, I couldn't care less where Dyche finishes this season - providing the final destination is unemployement and we are still top flight. He's not keeping his job. He's toast.

Yeah what a ridiculous opinion, that paying attention to decades of underinvestment and mismanagement culminating in Moshiri’s chaotic reign that almost bankrupted the club as a root cause of our current plight might be worthwhile rather than putting a load of effort into trashing a bloke who has been here less than 2 full seasons and in the one full season he’s had posted a 12 point improvement.

Yeah what a ridiculous opinion.
