2024/25 Sean Dyche

Something Dyche does offer, and that's (for me) guaranteed survival. I don't see us going down under him. Can we wait till the takeover and new stadium and bring a new manager with it then? Reborn like a Phoenix from the flames? Or are we impatient?
Up until the last few months, I’d say he always had the ear of the players. Even during the marvellous winless run last season. It really really looks like that has gone. Lots of arm waving and looking to the sky this season. I was all for letting him get us 12-15th, then walk away with polite applause. But if the players have started bitching amongst themselves about the setup, and about his cliches and one-liners, he will not keep us up.

To stop taking the mick for a second.

We’ve and particularly he has a real job of work to do in the very short term.

Performance's this season in the main have been sub optimal and frankly concerning. Not talking playing tika taka here, but raw fundamentals that influence fine margins in results.

There bellow our maximum threshold, concentration, fluidity and fight I think have been lacking.

The only real time we’ve looked 100% to our max have been in slices of games, Bourmouth, second half vs Palace and Ipswich game - we need consistency in performance, if we have that results will flow.

Guarantee you that none of this nonsense would be happening if it was Benitez or Lampard. For some very odd reason, a very small minority of people have been absolutely bewitched by one of the poorest managers we have ever had. We have won 2 out of 10 this season and 7 this year ffs.

Where would be in the table over the last 38 though! 😂

Completely agree.

why does he bring guaranteed survival???
Burnley sacked him after 30 games were he had only won 3, they ended up being relegated.

when he did get sacked they won 4 out of 8 with a caretaker manager, but unfortunately the damage was already done with Dyche
We're not Burnley we have a better team.
he doesn’t guarantee survival tho.

huge huge risk
In my opinion we're not going down, the league's awful, we're not the worst or 3rd worst.
Guarenteed survival?
First season he had 4 months and we stayed up with 30 minutes to spare.
Last season he did a number but if you look who finished below us. Apart from the dross who went down forest brentford and bournemouth were around us. You can take them out of the running now i reckon. And palace will climb that table.
The group is a lot smaller for the drop this year.
He's been relegated before. I dont see any guarentee. Not even close imo as it stands.
You can't take the dross out of the league to suit your story, there's even more dross in this season's league, we'll be fine.

There's no proof this has happened.

@Neiler it's way too easy in here isn't it 😂

I'm not worried about relegation, I'm worried about improvement.

Think you have to look at his past performence and ceiling of the team.

Hes dealt with far more adversity in each of his last two seasons here and came through from what seemed impossible situations - that indicates competncy. At one point last Nov we had four points after the deduction, we’l be fine.

Full tilt, we have 90 mins of the good of the Bournemouth performance in us. We’re not getting that. Performances are off. They aren’t good and we have more to be get from this group. Many reasons for this in my opinion, injury, contracts, luck, fixtures, changing system, profligate finishing.

To be honest after Bournemouth, feel we pulled the brake, we needed points on the board and look we got some, but it meant playing a bit more safely and pragmatically.

Personally feel, something is off, maybe we over did it on game management and getting back to basics, but it’s taken an instinctive edge off. Maybe we’ve gone too far back to basics.

What ever it is we need to get on top of it, concentration over 90 mins in particularly poor, composure another issue, frankly I don’t think we’re a particularly clever team in terms of in game management by the players, think we haven’t been as aggressive this season either - we were nastier last year to and fought more.

Regarding improvements don’t worry as there won’t be any under Dyche

Pick 3 worst teams than us? If you include Leicester & Southampton in that well 1 has beaten us twice this season and we drew with the other

For what I see, is that there's a new issue every week, and something band aided every week. There's no consistency to what we do, and it's worrying, but there are good things that happen and because of this I'm not even thinking about relegation. That shouldn't be in the discussion anyway, mid table should be. I'm with you in that there's something off, and I mean to be honest it's Dyche, he's just not a great manager, but he'll be good enough to get us through. That doesn't seem to be enough for most people, and that's fair.

Southampton, Leicester, Ipswich, Wolves, Palace. We've lost to 2 of them, but we've beaten teams they might not, and it's a long season. There should be no confusion with this being what I think and what I regard as acceptable however, I think we should be improving on what we did last season.
