2024/25 Sean Dyche

I love watching Everton play - always, it doesn't matter whether we are good or bad - in fact im prob more intense and passionate about it when we are bad. I get more excited about watching us as the week goes on as we get to Saturday, I've seen worse Everton sides then this and still be excited about watching them. I absolutely hate this time the - two week break, really miss it.

I dont understand people who dont watch us because of "entertainment" - not judging them - but i just dont understand it.
Maybe you are able to go to the match regularly? I would be different if that were the case because you can participate in shouting the team on etc which is part of the entertainment value
Otherwise it's awful to watch on TV and the entertainment factor is far more significant

I think not wanting him literally burnt at the stake for failing to beat West Ham away makes me part of the 'dyche in' crowd from what I can work out on here so I'll answer. No I don't like the football we play generally. I doubt many people do, and I don't think many people are massive fans of Dyche either. My take on it is that it basically comes down to whether you think we should be doing much better with what we have or not. None of us really know the answer to that so it's all opinions. Mine is that we're a side I would expect to be in the mix for relegation whoever was managing us, and so my expectations are based around that. Other people see it differently, which is fine.
Fair points
But 'burnt at the stake' isn't really the same as sacked with a fat pay out

Don't say you don't want him gone before the end of the season mate. Some dullard will come along and tell you that you love Dyche, want him here forever, and tell you that you think all our players are league one players.
If i did see he was gone once the takeover was done would have no problem with it if was getting the first choice manager TFG want. Players aint great but to say this is the best they can play with well creating even keeping hold of the ball i will never accept that becuase whatever we think of them have alot of experience internationals ect. Would be shocked if anyone wants him here long term

Used to a whole lot more, when i was in the UK id go to almost all home games and maybe every third away, when i moved back to Ireland id still go over to most of the home games every two weeks, had it down to a tee, these days if i get over three or four times a year im doing well, im lucky in that i have a lot of family in Liverpool that i can stay with etc.

Going or not going doesn't change it for me, im still like a lunatic watching on TV, if anything its easier at the game as id usually have a few on me.

For me it never ebbs and flows its always a constant, whether we are good or bad - doesnt matter you support your team, im actually i think more passionate when we are bad. It builds as the week goes on and when it gets to Saturday i cant wait.

Its half the reason we are all on here talking horse manure and writing essays, its holding that space until we play next.

That's a very positive outlook tbf

Out of curiosity
Put all the 'did what he was asked' stuff aside for a moment if you don't mind?
Do any of the Dyche in crowd enjoy watching us play? Is it something you look forward to?
Further to this, Would anyone be gutted if the cannon was fired first thing on a Monday and he was gone, would he actually be missed, I would say that most would be content with a decisive decision. There will be a few that would question it, and a few who would consider it a death knell but for me it would be a positive, as we look to appoint for the future and not this millstone of an Everton that we currently have.

Id personally be concerned.

Your one Lampard decision away from tumbling and we have those decisions in us.

All depends on who is appointed as his replacement. We could do a lot better than Dyche, we can (and have) done a lot worse. Perhaps that makes me a Dyche-ette or whatever infantile name some throw around.

Fair point, but you would like to think that the incumbents are a bit more savvy, actually, I'm not a religious man but I would PRAY they have a bit more savvy! lol

I had the discussion with my Son and how I used to be going the game and how exciting it was and actually still is, with my old man at the Fulham game it always feels like sense of anticipation and excitement, then Z cars finishes the players are on the pitch and it all fades(lol) even as an old man though I still get it, I wanna be entertained and Everton did and do sometimes now entertain, he is of the opinion, my Son that is, that its more of a chore now and an expensive one(I pay for his piggin ticket so he's not out of pocket) that gives little pleasure, and that for me is a huge shame!

History has shown us in recent times that we can f it up badly, Im hoping we are at that watershed moment but then I look at Roma and get chills!!

I just want a successful Everton and that measure of success has been way too low. I do feel we may be on the cusp of a change tho!

Yes we were in control of the last two, should have been 6 points instead of 1 and down solely to our execution in goal scoring.

I will have a pint of what you are on please mate.
I view it as we did pretty much dominate and We should have won both games . Part of that is down to a failure in front of goal but a significantly larger part is a manager who went out not to lose .

We seem to be totally structured to not lose games and a lifetime of watching football , specifically Everton , has taught me teams doing that get caught out time after time .

Yeah the failure in front of goal is definitely an issue but for me it’s a tactical /management failure .

Its a bit of a contradiction of a statement.

You agree we dominated chances and should've won both games, but the manager sets up not to lose.

So if we dominate chances without setting up not to lose, then we just lose.

I would be gutted that we caved in and gave him the payoff he’s after

On top of the extortionate wages we’re already paying him
