2024/25 Sean Dyche

Don’t know whether it was an accurately attributed quote to Joe Hart on X today (presumably he was subsisting somewhere) but it’s a damning indictment of Dyche if what he said was true in that he was only interested in keeping clean sheets.

To get that direct from someone who had directly worked with him I thought was interesting from a players perspective.

We do know mate.

Saw it under Lampard.

Saw it under Benitez.

Saw it from Christmas under Ancelotti.

They're crap.
You’d have a better point if they were still the exact same attacking players under the different managers.

Lampard
Benitez
Dyche

3 of the worst managers this club has ever had in its entire existence, probably something to do with this too, right?

Shock horror, blamed the players for the loss. Coward of the highest order. Can’t wait until this parasite is finally gone. But ‘we should thank him’ apparently, get fecked with that [Poor language removed].

This thread is weird now. No one is defending Dyche anymore, I think everyone is in agreement that Dyche's days are rightfully numbered. A few weeks ago I'd have said we are best just seeing out his contract and parting amicably in May. But now I am firmly the sooner the new regime brings in a new man the better.

It's objective fact that he did a good job for his first 18 months. Though I want him gone now, he will always have my thanks and respect for that.

Slapping/Tapping a player around the ear......... supposedly, is always gonna leave the dressing room with............ WTF. The more he runs out of ideas.......... which he has none .......... and the rumblings behind the scenes............... He knows and the players know..........he is a dead man walking.

Of course he is.

Indicative of how much of a basketcase Everton are.

TFG were jibbing him for Rangnick before they walked away.

Dyche knows he's never getting beyond this season. Apparently he gets paid an extra year if sacked. The players know it.

Doesn't help does it?

TFG need to replace him but it's not happening until they're owners.

And I'm telling you folks - this team are taking our blood pressure to the max until April/May no matter the manager.

Because Mykolenko/Young are full backs, with a front three incapable of pace and/or scoring enough goals.

Sometimes football is a simple as that.

This is a pretty different team and I dont think we've ever been this bad in attack.

There comes a point where the manager needs to go and we're there. We've had plenty of experience with this and know this is it happening again.

Aye mate. Give me Gordon, Iwobi and Richarlison anyday.

Agree all poor managers, but lash Ancelotti in there and we're still bottom half.

The Answer to the First question is obviously no

Second question is harder to answer. It's subjective. If you look at NET spend we are the lowest in the league... And just in a general sense while I don't think we have 3rd worst squad, I do think we have the worst full back options in the entire division, I would say bottom 5 in terms of strikers. The only players who I can confidently say get into every other bottom half first 11 are Pickford and Branthwaite.

So while I still think the answer to the first question is no, I do think we massively overrate our current squad.
I think we underrate our squad a little because of the managers weve hired.

He was a Nick Pope stoppage time save away from failing after 5 months? He’s a terrible manager. He’s had a lot of luck over the course of his time here.

Why do we keep hiring useless managers? The cash dried up. Moshiri has been trying to sell the club. Only desperate managers are going to come in.

None of those three would have been here if we had proper leadership in place (ownership).
We hire useless managers because the one before left us in the mire.

Hiring mid season limits available managers and people you can poach.

Im not saying Moshiri hasnt made a dogs dinner of this club but the managers are pure rank.
