2024/25 Sean Dyche

Also dyche doesn't know what to do with skilled players and creates absurd reasons when we buy players and dithers to put them on the pitch like they're not premier league experienced

The last thing he wants is for us to buy loads of good players for him because it would actually shine a spotlight on him to do his job and win more than 8 games in a calendar year. He is quite happy with the bar of expectation being as low as possible, as he’s simply all about self-preservation. We finished 12th last season and the first thing he did was come out and tell the media “no no no that didn’t count we’re actually crap and will be in the bottom 5 again”.

Let’s get a good squad in place and then we can argue about what the manager is doing with it.

So far though all we’ve done is called every manager since Moyes ‘crap’ and in that crop is one of the greatest managers of all time who finished….10th.

Maybe it’s time to look at the recruitment of players, how much money we’re investing in the squad, the culture at the club etc. and deliver an actual decent squad to a manager before we just spin the wheel again and call the next one crap as well.

Yeah as if you’d hold the manager to task regardless of what players we have. You’d invent a reason as to why those players are crap/been poisoned by the Rotten Core before you ever blamed Dyche.

Look at the improvement since Branthwaite has come back in. That’s one player. Now imagine we had a Branthwaite quality player in every position of the back 4 (Citybhave even better), and a top quality striker upfront. Even if we played exactly the same football as we have with all the other rubbish players in between how many extra points do we have just from Keane Young Mykolenko not making errors and DCL Beto not missing sitters? Now imagine we added midfielders with pace and technique who could pass and control a ball.

You could play exactly the same ‘turgid’ style of football yet we’d probably be at least 6-9 points better off.

So yeah I’d rather just give a manager a decent squad and then when he underperforms with it I’ll get angry at him as I did at Martinez and Koeman and Silva. Battering Dyche endlessly for taking a team that was 19th and keeping them up whilst we continue to asset strip the squad seems less useful than actually being angry at the owners and directors for putting us in this position.

I'll quickly ask as you swerved it before. As your saying again imagine dyche with that quality. Why did nobody touch him with a sh!tty stick at Burnley for a decade? Why has nobody seen his potential with with these quality players in every position.
Its mad that you see it. But no clubs do. They're missing out.

Happy to reel off a list of managers he’s outperformed relative to his budget, yet somehow all of those managers will walk into better jobs than he could ever dream of in the future. Why is that then?

Let’s keep doing what we’ve done for the last 10 managers and 30 years then. There’s a word for that, but sure you know best, Sean Dyche is the only problem just as Smith Moyes Martinez Koeman Allardyce Silva Ancelotti Benitez Lampard all were. The only thing stopping us from winning trophies is hiring the right manager.

Carlo Ancelotti, winner of more CL trophies than anyone in history, multiple league titles across different leagues, managed the best players in the world, brought the best number 10 in the world to Everton…and ended up finishing 10th and summarised that the best the players could do was for Pickford to kick it long to Calvert Lewin. That was a team that had James Digne Richarlison Allan Gomes Siggurdson Mina in it, and that’s what he thought.

But sure, the only problem at the club is the bloke we brought in when we were 19th. Let’s harangue him to make Harrison and Ashley Young attack better down the right side.

Change the record already.

Nobody’s said he’s the only problem. Literally nobody. But you’re acting like he isn’t a problem at all and making every excuse under the sun to absolve him.

Oh and he’s playing Young and Harrison out of choice btw. There are two young right backs that can’t get a sniff because he doesn’t want to play them in case they’re better than Young and make him look stupid.

Let’s see where he ends up.

The simple answer to this simple question is clubs with better players can attract better managers than Sean Dyche.

That does not mean that Everton wouldn’t be much better off if it gave Sean Dyche (or any manager) better players

You seem to be confusing me with some that is making an argument that Sean Dyche should be managing top clubs or should be taking Everton forward.

How many times do I have to spell it out that as soon as the takeover is done he can go as far as I’m concerned. He was the horse for the course when we were 19th in the league with no money to spend and an absent owner. Even then I didn’t pick him did I, I just thought he’s done a decent job since he’s been here but that time is now coming to an end and a different manager will be required.

You’re trying to argue against an argument that no one is making. No one is saying he’s a top manager that the big six are going to after if we let him go, why do people keep referencing this, literally no one is saying it.

Stop inventing narratives that aren’t there and read the actual posts.

We tried to get him a few years ago when we were in a better position and he said No.
That was a blessing.

yes saying I wouldn’t like to extend his contract and that his job is now at an end because he isn’t the man to take us forward is definitely me acting like he isn’t a problem and absolving him of everything under the sun.

Good lord.

You have never once critiqued anything he’s done. Anyone that’s had any sort of critique for him you’ve pounced on like a rabid hyena and had an excuse ready as to why it was someone else’s fault.

You change from post to post. You keep saying he's not great. And then, imagine him with quality players.
Its a legitimate reply to say its never happened because no one sees the potential in him. and with good reason.
Sorry if you dont like it lol.
