2024/25 Sean Dyche

Let’s keep doing what we’ve done for the last 10 managers and 30 years then. There’s a word for that, but sure you know best, Sean Dyche is the only problem just as Smith Moyes Martinez Koeman Allardyce Silva Ancelotti Benitez Lampard all were. The only thing stopping us from winning trophies is hiring the right manager.

Carlo Ancelotti, winner of more CL trophies than anyone in history, multiple league titles across different leagues, managed the best players in the world, brought the best number 10 in the world to Everton…and ended up finishing 10th and summarised that the best the players could do was for Pickford to kick it long to Calvert Lewin. That was a team that had James Digne Richarlison Allan Gomes Siggurdson Mina in it, and that’s what he thought.

But sure, the only problem at the club is the bloke we brought in when we were 19th. Let’s harangue him to make Harrison and Ashley Young attack better down the right side.

Change the record already.
You're aware when Jack harrison played for leeds he was actually a decent player and contributed several goals and assists? Also they played him in his natural position at left wing which dyche has refused to do. Who told dyche to play Ashley Young every game? Patterson is fit and in his one start Dixon was one of better players on the pitch. You know dyche selects who is on the pitch right?

You change from post to post. You keep saying he's not great. And then, imagine him with quality players.
Its a legitimate reply to say its never happened because no one sees the potential in him. and with good reason.
Sorry if you dont like it lol.

Saying that results would be better if we had better players is not a wild take. That’s different as to the reason why top clubs haven’t taken him. Not sure what the confusion is here.

I get we don't have a championship league squad but it's been a thing lately where former players we neglected and never properly utilized have looked good like digne who a lot of people were critical of before he went to villa, Moises Keane is thriving in series a, Nkunkuku I'd playing for a German club in Europe and lookman has been sensational for atalanta. Yes there are duds but it's almost like we don't nurture and employ players in a way that helps them grow it's happened before dyche , but his rigid metric for the players he selects does not help the squad develop

Look at the improvement since Branthwaite has come back in. That’s one player. Now imagine we had a Branthwaite quality player in every position of the back 4 (Citybhave even better), and a top quality striker upfront. Even if we played exactly the same football as we have with all the other rubbish players in between how many extra points do we have just from Keane Young Mykolenko not making errors and DCL Beto not missing sitters? Now imagine we added midfielders with pace and technique who could pass and control a ball.

You could play exactly the same ‘turgid’ style of football yet we’d probably be at least 6-9 points better off.

So yeah I’d rather just give a manager a decent squad and then when he underperforms with it I’ll get angry at him as I did at Martinez and Koeman and Silva. Battering Dyche endlessly for taking a team that was 19th and keeping them up whilst we continue to asset strip the squad seems less useful than actually being angry at the owners and directors for putting us in this position.

If we signed quality players suited to Dyche's setup across the 11 then we'd be competing for the title.

You're not aware that Harrison was also poor at Leeds then? A 1 in 4 player at best -- as I said right before we signed him.

ok we don’t agree here obvs as i’m basing it on his inability to get results with this squid

you think he would with a better one

would YOU give him a new deal

or till summer

or see if there he’s made
an improvement?

People with brains knew Digne was a massive loss

Also just to counter some of this with a few points

Moise Kean - is having a good season this season in the Serie A, his previous two seasons were awful.

Nkunku playing for a German club - which German club? It's not exactly an inspiring statement

Ademola Lookman - seems to be growing into a tidy player for Atlanta but there were many clubs where it didn't work out for him. He's had a spell at us and Leicester in the PL and didn't manage to cement his stay.

And as I already mentioned, Lucas Digne - I recall a lot of people being upset with that transfer. He was one of our best creators, our goals (and a lot of DCLs) fell off a cliff when he left, so don't think it didn't work for him here like you seem to be suggesting.
