2024/25 Sean Dyche

4th best defence in the league in the 23/24 season.

So, August and September 2024 where we weren't at it?
I should bloody hope so given he sends 11 players out to defend every game.

Most teams think about attack, too. So concentrating all of our resources on defence ought to have some benefit to our defensive record.

The absolute epitome of a loser’s mentality this chancer, we need to shed this negative coward asap to welcome in a new direction for the club. Kenwright’s lingering fart. Imagine having to listen to him every day at Finch Farm ffs
He keeps chirping up with him inheriting so many issues and issues behind the scenes. In one month, he will have been our manager for two years.

What's the bigger picture? Yes, we've retained our PL status and the books have been improved, but where's the bigger picture in terms of the football?

We've regressed and will continue to do so as long as his limitations remain.

Tbh mate when Lampard left, we had a problem with scoring and keeping the ball out of our net. Dyche came in and improved the latter and he tends to try and build a foundation on that. A shape, everyone knowing their job and hard work.

We can fight all day about it but in my opinion, our squad won't be able to handle a manager who focuses on attacking, until we make some proper signings at full back and midfield. As said before, now that TFG I'm happy to say 'job done' to Dyche. Won't be angry if they sack him (provided they invest) and won't be angry if they let him see out his contract.
Not fighting at all, I agree with your last sentence.
It should be noted Dyche gets praised regularly in media and on here when the ultra defensive style works. We all love a clean sheet. It usually hangs by a thread though and when that unravels the game plan means nothing. That rarely gets talked about and neither does the massive sacrifice in attacking intent to facilitate the defensive focus. It's not like he switches to it after going ahead to frustrate, it's the game plan no matter who the opposition is. I disagree that there aren't managers that can do both adequately at the same time, with this squad. Lampard is not one of them, which is why he was sacked

You're correct, when it unravels, it's not pretty. To be fair though, it hasn't unravelled too often of late. Like you, won't be unhappy either way and the writing is eventually on the wall for Dyche. Doesn't alter the fact that he has done the job required to keep us in the Premiership despite a complete lack of investment opportunity made available to him. Problem on here is that a small proportion of the vocal anti-Dyche mob resort to aggressive posting and can't debate.

Dyche will likely be gone by the end of the summer at the latest, so I guess it won't matter anyway. Nothing can stop me feeling positive about the future when all considered.

Absolutely, you're right! This week is a good week. Hopefully we bounce Chelsea to top it off
