2024/25 Sean Dyche

Well.

He brought our best player off for Abdoulaye Doucoure, a man who doesn’t know what his feet are doing at the best of times. This meant that we relinquished any control of the midfield.

Then he brought on Beto for DCL. This left us without any focal point to win headers or hold the ball up, which means Bournemouth could play on the half way line and camp us in our own half.

He left Garner on the bench when we were crying out for fresh legs as Tim was knackered. He also left O’Brien on the bench despite their first two goals showing that we could not deal with crosses coming into the box. The winning goal came from a back post header where Keane was caught ball watching and letting his man ghost in at the back stick.

He used 2 out of the 5 subs available to him, whereas their manager used all 5 subs with loads of time remaining. They basically had half a fresh team going into the last 20 minutes and our players were running on fumes, while players sat on the bench and watched.

So there’s all that, I suppose.
Excellent summary.

This. A million times this.

And we could all see it.

To add

Beto for DCL would have been good for me.
Then McNeil out for OBruen

Defense first, having Lindström to make a good pass to the fast Beto Ndiaye, to still go to those counters.

Going 5-2-1-2, 5-4-1 or 5-3-2.
I could live with the Beto for DCL switch if he had left ndiaye on. But having already brought doucoure on, we needed someone high up who can at least win a duel and keep hold of the ball so it didn’t keep coming back at us. So bringing Beto on was a huge mistake at that point as neither him or doucoure can hold it up, half the time they can’t control it.

He made a mistake in taking Ndiaye off and taking away that outlet, but compounded it by taking off our other outlet a few mins later.

The mentality is shocking and he's got to take some of the blame for that. Somehow at 2-2 their winning goal was inevitable. Other teams would've rallied and put Bournemouth under pressure at that point. Never seen anything like it.

Why is it bizarre that people want him sacked? Clearly our players all hate him apart from Youngy and Keano, he is tactically inept, completely arrogant and delusional, loves the smell of his own farts, slanders the fans, incapable of reacting to what is going on on the pitch. He is a clueless manager and thoroughly unlikeable bloke to go along with it.
Yeah but apart from that?

2 years in a row he's decided to reintegrate Keane into the starting 11 in August and we've lost all 6 games.

There's no excuse for that level of incompetency. And there's no excuse for repeating the same mistakes.

He's making far too many basic tactical errors for this level. And that's before even considering his subs. We had today's debacle, bringing on Young over Dixon against league 2 opposition, and waving the White flag against Brighton by bringing on Holgate for Harrison.

These are not the decisions of someone who is good enough to manage Everton.

And the thing that annoys me the most is that he doesn't take the responsibility afterwards. It's always excuses and deflection. That's not the mentality of a top manager.

Surely he has to actually have tactics to be making tactical errors?
