2024/25 Sean Dyche

I don’t think we could be in a worse position than we were.

The squad is better now

The FFP position is better

Any manager would have almost a full season ahead of them

I don’t think any manager will commit long term until the ownership is resolved

Agree mate, was a desperate position and almost an impossible task at the time - remember we didn’t have a forward worthy of the name either.

You’d still be nervous taking us on I think, selling your best players, PSR issues, no resources, no governance, tough crowd - it’s a tough job.

Would have to be someone making the step up or cut adrift looking for an opportunity.

They were in a completely different position to us. Completely different squad quality, completely different ownership, completely different finances.

We would have had more options if we’d fired Lampard earlier but once we were in the position we were in the number of options would have been reduced.
But they were fighting relegation too and he has just turned down the richest club in the world, but villa still went for him. Kenwright wouldn’t have had that ambition.

Who actually went for the job after Lampard. Dyche and probably Dunc threw his hat into the ring. Maybe a few agents put their clients forward, but were probably small Time managers from abroad. Or in the championship or league 1.

Moshiri contacted bielsa and maybe the club through Thelwell contacted Corberan, we should have more ambition. We’re still a big name in the biggest, richest league in the world and we get a manager out of work for nearly a year and managed at Burnley fir 10yrs, nearly as bad as kenwright appointing a manager who just got relegated after Moyes left

Mate let's be honest, there would be a hundred managers who would put themselves up to run us. 99 of them would be awful but we are still a premier league club. You'd need some strong mental will no doubt. I think we become attractive to more competent managers when the financials are sorted.

Imo he prob was right for the job dyche because of the mess here. But needs show alot more if long term can see him most likely seeing the end of the season here. Is a massive choice with the amount of players we have left in contract at the end of the season. Will be baisically building a new team and style

Lads in the Belgian second division would bite your hand off for sure mate or a dude in the Championship. I agree on the risk profile 99/1.

If I’m honest I don’t trust the lid who decided on thd last 7 wrong mangers, to pick a better one out of a worse pool that he fished in before. I’ve seen enough - not to expect him to make a bags of it again.

I’m not sure what we are expecting to change on that score.

Nothing will change till Moshiri is gone. I'm not unhappy with Dyche being here given the working conditions, I'm unhappy with Everton from top to bottom. We need a fresh start. Remember that feeling a young Moyes gave us? He'd be sacked for his second season these days like. Bournemouth almost looked like we turned a corner let's hope there's better to come.
