2024/25 Sean Dyche

Lampard threw away leads against Brentford at home, Southampton at home, and Wolves at home. And has always had a better ppg ratio to boot. The stats aren't on your side there
We are never going to agree.
But at the end of the day, I will never be enthusiastic about the style of football Dyche purveys, it’s a cowardly way to approach a sport in my personal opinion.
His style is neither aspirational nor entertaining and at times is positively soporific.
To cap all that , his in game management which has always been poor , (even Burnley supporters noted this failing) , was revealed to be actually disastrous during our last match.
He didn’t even have the good grace to own his mistakes, preferring to direct the entirety of blame onto his players.
Even Moyes owned up to his mistakes occasionally, ( remember the Spurs game when his substitution cost us the game?)
However , we are clearly diametrically opposed in our opinion of this manager and neither of us will ever change the opinion of the other I suspect .
Enjoy the discussion though .

The one thing you got with Moyes was consistency at home in beating the lesser sides in the league

I remember when we drew to Huddersfield at home in the prem think that was under silva

Also ancelotti lost to an already relegated Sheffield United at home

It’s just been awful for the last decade except for that 1 season under Martinez

Goodison the fortress? My arse most clubs enjoy coming here these days it’s an easy win for them

Wolves have beaten us three times in a row at goodison park ffs

Fulham won their first game at goodison park for the first time since 1949 a few years ago

It’s a joke

When was the last time we beat wolves at home?
May 2021 under Carlo. The game after we lost to relegated Sheffield.

West Ham too used to always be a home banker that

What is this historic PPG nonsense. It's the here and now that counts. It's this current season that counts.

To those that say don't panic... when should we worry? When it's too late?

Sack him: now. I'd rather we act and try something, anything!, rather than surrender with hardly a whimper.

And anticipating retorts... replaced by anybody. Truly.

UTFT.

he won’t be sacked yet

There's very sadly no risk of it happening, but a spanking today ought to be the end of him at Everton.

Still plenty of time left in the season to easily get safe, but that requires a new manager who himself will need time to implement a better style which will get the points we need.

The club wasting time and putting itself at a huge disadvantage with its dallying is really worrying.

Not one word is a lie there I'm afraid.

Agree he should be hanging by a thread but even ignoringMosh’s dithering, he cannot practically be replaced.

Textor can’t install his type of manager next Monday because he has zero governance over the club, and still owns almost half of a rival team. And Kev can’t install a grim firefighter manager next Monday because said manager has just been told he will be replaced on the 1st December. That will be in the back of any potential new managers mind - “The new owner has made it clear job number 1 is to sit down and decide whether to bin me off.”

It’s a mess entirely of our own making. Again.

Practical alternative would be to bin Dyche, caretaker for however many months until Textor is in, then appoint. But we have too few points to just give it to Baines for a bit.
