2024/25 Sean Dyche

No mate, I'd rather someone who works for free and loves his job and is boss, but that's not how it works is it.
But you implied that they will come for the money. We've done that the last 10 years and sacked the lot.

The last one who didn't come for the money ended up being here for over 10 years.

We need someone who wants to manage us regardless of the money offered. This is the struggle at the moment as nobody fancies it.

So you’re basically just going to keep saying “what if he doesn’t fancy it” every time I name a potential Dyche replacement, so therefore we’re gonna go on forever aren’t we. Pointless discussion.

Why would you mock the idea of Moyes when you’re actually advocating keeping Sean Dyche? Genuinely? On what universe are they even comparable in terms of stature in the game? It’s laughable, they’re not even close in terms of ability.

No, genuinely interested on all these names you think.

Moyes is the obvious one.

Who else?

It's not your job then to say who should be sacked?

Still, you can have an opinion.

They wanted Bielsa, didnt they?

I like Frank, but I dont think he would come here. Also interesting you say 'Brentford are a much better team than us' - Dyche finished above him last season. Even with the point deduction.

Potter? Here is my view;

... Only once in 3 years then did he earn over Dyches' 48 points last season.

Not for me, at all him.

It is small margins, and if any manager can improve us on Dyche I'd be all for it.

I dont have any names though, and neither does anyone else I've ever asked.

Moyes is the common shout, which makes me sad.
Yes and I gave you two names, both would be a massive upgrade.

And yer I'm not sure what happened with beisla, didn't he turn us down because he wanted to take over at the end of the season so he could have time to work with yhe squad etc? I can't remember

Re frank I was being sarcastic about them being much better than us, but I think the job he has done at Brentford is different class, and I know style doesn't win ylu games but I like the way they try and play, hes built that squad the hard way as well, it has a mix of players who've been there for years and then fresh faces.

Potter is interesting, you see the point you made a lot, he only ever done well towards the end, he took over that club from Houghton was it? He changed yhe whole philosophy of that club and set them up for what they are now today, he built that squad an molded it to how they are now, he would be perfect for us. Same circumstances from when he took over from Houghton ( I'm sure it was him? )

And yer moyes isn't for me, but if it was a straight choice between dyche and moyes for the rest of the season, it's moyes and it's a no brainer

That's good mate.

So you want Moyes.

Moyes.

Anyone else you could maybe name? You know, just in case he didn't fancy it?

You usually play football manager on here and come up with about 20 different formations he should play. Never tries anything new, you said.

Makes a bit of a change for 5 mins and you're on his case. Pfft.
Never once played football manager, only ever played championship manager on the Amiga.

And I think I've come up with one formation when you asked me what I would do; this was a couple of weeks ago. I'll post in the match thread what I think his team will be to see how predictable he is

Still played more of them than any other Everton manager I can recall.

Appreciate a lot of the time out of necessity, mind.
I agree with that. I don't accept that he doesn't give young players a chance.

I just think that he tries to over protect them because he feels they are not ready and consequently we end up playing even more cautiously than usual.

I think we sat back last night in an attempt by the manager to protect Armstrong, Dixon and maybe even O Brien.

The ball went out of play mate and Dixon stayed at left back. It was in front of me
There not going to swap straight away if the balls just out of play , don't want to get into an argument if that's how it was but i didn't spot it apart from the corner which i thought was the sensible thing to do but a pet peeve that teams only have 1 player that can take a corner from a certain side of the pitch

I'll give you Frank. But like I said, Dyche did better than him last season and we're 4 games in this season. I also dont think he'd come at the moment.

Potter was a symptom of Brighton, not a cause. He lost more than he won at Brighton - His win rate (31%) was less than Houghton. In my view, Potter would be a disaster here.

He doesn't make changes - slated.

He makes changes - slated.

I guess strawman might not be the right term when *some* people said that. Selective response? There are lots of people here who want Dyche gone for LOTS of reasons. In the course of discussion people may land on subs.

It's not the sole reason and pointing out that he gets bad results when he does subs and he gets bad results when he doesn't use subs isn't the win you may think. It's just confirming he's useless.

It's not a guaranteed fix but sticking with Dyche looks like a guaranteed disaster atm

Maybe.

4 games though, 4 games the bookies backed us to lose.

3 of the 4 I expected us to lose.

Last season, 48 points was pretty comfortable. The safest we've been in 3 years - and we've sold more than we've bought in each of them 3 years.

you're the only person that saw this, maybe cos it didnt happen

Aye, dont think it happened myself either mate. I dont think Dyche decided to lash Dixon left back and McNeil right back for 5 minutes. Reckon he was just caught on the wrong side for one spell of play.

Maybe it’s time you answered why you want to keep Dyche. I’ve just given you the obvious answer, which is what you asked for. So what’s your reason for wanting to keep Dyche?

Answered this loads mate.

I've also said if he doesnt get results in the next 2, then results are what that are and you have to look at changing it.

You continually confuse me talking about how bad we are as a team/club, with it just being a defence of Dyche. It's not, I'm saying we're in a bad way no matter the manager.

Ultimately - if you sack him, you have to replace him.

I'm not convinced we'd do that to any worthwhile degree, because.... well, people are talking up Potter. Or Moyes.

Potter would need time, and this is not something we have now. But in the end, Hughton also played in championship in PL he won 18 of 76 and averaged a 1ppg average. That's probably worse than what Dyche
