2024/25 Sean Dyche

They gave up when we put 5 past them on their own ground. One performance does not extrapolate out to the entire club though. We played badly yesterday no one is denying that. Brighton will have their days this season when they take an absolute battering, after about 20 mins I thought they were one of the worst PL teams of ever seen at Goodison and some teams will be on a good day against them when they’re on a bad day and they’ll be getting punted all over the shop, Every club not called Manchester City or Arsenal are going to have days like this. It’s not indicative of anything, the season is long, players change, lineups change, form comes and goes. This is the reality of mid to lower mid table football.
Yes it is day 1 of this season. But it's not just 1 game in the grand scheme of things. It's far too simplistic to just say this is a one off when it's absolutely not.

We know exactly we will get when that 11 is selected and those tactics are employed. It's exactly the same rubbish we got at the beginning of last season and we had to endure a dreadful start to the season before the manager learned his best side.

We got absolutely smashed by an average side who didn't even play that well. That's absolutely unacceptable at Goodison.

The story is while hes here we will always be in a relegation scrap.

Fire him and hire someone who is progressive to move us away from this.
Hire someone who will make going the game or watching on tv a little bit enjoyable.
Hire someone who develops players he and his team coaches
Hire someone who has a CV that moves clubs in an upward direction
Hire someone whos tactics are not from the early 80s
Hire someone who plans A isnt too hoof it and has a plan B
Hire someone who lets wingers attack first not defend first
Hire someone who doesnt think experience players are the answer when they have repeatedly failed you time and time again.
Hire someone who has an answer to going a goal down

Dont come at with the players arent good enough thats why we play the way we do.

A team consisting of Welbeck and Milner destroyed us yesterday at home.

everton of the field problems loves SD

Any fan that permits a humiliation by three goals on the opening day at Goodison like that is the reason why we’re in this mess. No Everton Manager should survive that or we’re finally not NSNO anymore.

Didn't we lose 4-1 at home in the first game of the 84/85 season? By that rule, one of the best proponents of NSNO would have been sacked.

I know there's a world of difference between the two managers, but do feel there's a slight overreaction going on with yesterday. We were in the game and had a good chance of getting a result until the pen was overturned and Gueye gave away that second goal. Individual mistakes turned a disappointing start until an awful one, but that doesn't call for knee-jerk decisions.

Think we'll be fine this season and with any luck we're in a position come the season's end to thank Dyche and move forward without him.

mate us fans don’t accept it

but it’s tough till a better future

Like with de zerbi trying to play like man city out of defence with players nowhere as good it's a recipe for a few beatings during the season and will end up around the same points as last season

De Zerbi did the best he could with the players he had at Brighton. I think Dyche over 18 months in the main has done the same with the players here. I think Brighton have a lot of players that are better than Everton have.

The core of the squad and team being selected is the same as the squad that battled relegation for 2 seasons up to the last day. Coleman Keane Tarkowski Mykolenko Gueye Doucoure Calvert Lewin McNeil. Some in that list are better than others but a lot of these players were poor under Benitez, poor under Lampard, and have been poor under Dyche.

It’s no surprise to me that our better players recently in Branthwaite Garner Onana are some of the newer ones, even Iroegbunam looked the best player on the pitch for us yesterday. We have to keep them fit though. Last season is a completely different story if Branthwaite isn’t fit for the whole season.

Branthwaite needs to get fit and stay fit, Patterson needs to get fit, Garner and Ireogbunam need to play far more than Gueye. Ndiaye and Lindstrom can hopefully improve the quality at the top.

We can argue about managers as much as anyone wants but no manager, not even Carlo Ancelotti, is getting joined up football from Coleman Keane Gueye Docuoure Calvert Lewin down the spine of the team. The technique isn’t there, the concentration hasn’t been there, and it hasn’t been under multiple different managers. Can throw Young in with that lot too. Until they’re gone from the club we’re always going to have issues.

Dyche has proven he can handle severe pressure.
hmmm judging from his post match interview i'm not sure he does.

absolutely lost the plot all day yesterday.

people can keep saying we stayed up because of dyche, but we stayed up because teams below us have been diabolical.

he done OK last season, and he did have a lot to contend with, but our squad was far better than the 3x teams who went down, so he should be keeping us up anyway.

i cannot watch another season of football like that home though
