2024/25 Sean Dyche

….seems like he wasn’t desperate to keep Keane in the side.

There is a lot of nonsense posted about ‘favourites’ etc but I do accept that was a tergid first half, despite him doing what most posters wanted; dropping Keane for Branthwaite and starting Ndiaye and Lindstrom.

Dyche cannot survive on last seasons achievement, he needs to get the right balance in the 6 who play ahead of the back four. McNeil seems to have established himself at no10, Ndiaye and DCL look secure. He might have to play bingo with the other positions although it could be mainly about the right partner for Mangala.

Garner and Gana are fit that's the starting midfield.

Looked balanced and played some really good stuff when they came on.

I want him replacing when the Yanks come in, but I do think he’s a lot less stubborn than people make out

Also deserves credit for the McNeil 10/Ndiaye LW thing, when everyone including me wanted it the other way round

O'Brien must be absolutely turd if he couldn't get in ahead of Keane. Fingers crossed Branthwaite stays fit, we stay up comfortably if he does.

He’d have been mad though to keep him in the side if Branthwaite had been available. That would have been Everton manager career suicide wouldn’t it? The issue I think some had (I know I had) was we had a new CB, but he still chose Keane over him. Aside from that I do think they need to possibly consider why for the second season in a row, JB has not been available for selection e.g. appreciate injuries but is it something they need to manage him differently.

Ah I dont know it’s been a bit of fun mate, full metal Lord of the Flies.

Pleasing thing for me is for periods in the game today we were really purring and playing some lovely stuff, it’s been in all of our games if you care to see it. Illy and Dwight really opening up and causing damage. We’ve a few screws to tighten, whose best on the right…..Dom seems to struggle with players who can create ball at feet for us, he’s always behind the play that isn’t a long ball, or a cross - he’s not great with anticipation or ball at feet. Also think you can hurt us just in front of the back four - don’t think he’s sure on who his best midfield pair is.

Branthwaite is a huge enabler brought calmness today and is huge at covering for the full backs, hugely important on crosses and set pieces and calmness in game management. Also think Garner bring back is going to be a big +.

15th we need to start looking up.
I feel sorry for him. That week especially when those players panicked and threw a 2 goal lead away with minutes left.

Decent enough bang average manager for me...creatinly not the clueless 'gravy tits' his detractors tell us he is.

Made up they're piped down again tonight.

That was a properly unconvincing win. It was must-win and we did, great, but we were abject for 45 mins then scored a worldy early in the 2nd half, got another not long after and then proceeded to not create anything after that.

A win's a win, but he could barely have scraped the bare minimum requirement anymore than he did.

This season is going to be odd. If he keeps us up, that's fine but he's on death row. I'd be amazed if there was anyone who wants him past the end of the season and I'm one of his biggest defenders as far as the job he has done since he came here goes

We had 2 shots on target and scored 2 goals, both of them worldies. This happens once in a blue moon.

Good and necessary result, side still unbalanced as we removed the working midfield to have a working defense as if they can't work together.

No idea why Tim didn't start, maybe there is a reason, Doucoure is a crime against football but naturally played the full game while stinking the place out, which isn't a privilege other players have. Definitely not cuz he's the manager's pet or anything like that though.

A proactive sub was quite frankly the true shock and, believe it or not, changed the game quite a bit! Who could've thought this possible, right?

Agree actually thought got subs spot on well the two cm garner and gana but agree i would have put tim on in that role think would suit him. Thought it was a poor game for all the ball palace had really didnt do anything, was all about the win today but we have to improve on the ball
