2024/25 Sean Dyche

Why does what happened in 1998 resonate with you more than what happened since? Aside from caretakers, every Everton manager since Moyes was new and they didn't work either. Why does 1998 count but all the failed new managers since then don't prove new managers don't work?

I'm not arguing new managers don't work -- merely pointing out I can provide more factual evidence from reality of new managers failing than you can of returning managers who failed. It doesn't matter how many times you say it ... it doesn't make any logical sense to just say "Kendall didn't work so that proves it" ... it proves nothing. Maybe that one event proves player-manager is better than just manager?
1997 was his third spell. He was a disaster in 1993 too. RIP. And the worst thing about the whole thing is that it tarnishes his reputation

Its just nitpicking

This is it Clarky, Dyche bases his whole 'system' around the percentages. Right now, he is like a gambler playing the odds, and not getting a result, hence the winless streak, hence the 'raging' and to my mind frustration. Yet, if his 'system' starts paying out, he'll relax more and in all probability become more reasoned about his selections and tactics. Again, being fair, he has had a very poor hand with regards injuries, surgical procedures and sickness thus far...

We have to remember (@matty1878 ) he is not likely to be going anywhere soon, for all the reasons mentioned repetitively over these pages.

The only way Dyche goes early, for me (and not my preferred option), is when we get bought out!
I disagree, fans gets managers sacked and the palace and Newcastle games could be horrendous and very toxic, the board, absent owner, DOF can’t just watch and do nothing. Maybe Textor and TFG also get involved.

I said last season he plays Toss a Coin football, we score 50% from set pieces, when we score first we usually don’t lose, though that’s already happened twice in 4 games. How many times did it happen last season? City at home is 1, can’t remember others, so he’s already behind on last season, and we never win when we conceade first or a team scores at goodison.

And it’s obvious teams playing us this season will work on set pieces and it looks like dyche works on nothing bar working hard and shape

We picking and choosing records? First time a manager has kept a team in the league with not one pts deduction but two. Was 1 way away from equalling a home win record not been achieved since 2019. 4th best defence in the league last season. 48 pts, our best in years. But that was all 'luck' to you guys.
Our best points tally in 3 years. One win away from what record in 2019???
So he’s got a few records from the last few years. And quite a few from the 50’s and 60’s so not quite the same. And nobody has had points deduction before

I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't think Moshiri and his board, the DoF or anyone else at the club will worry one iota about what the fans think. QED The record winless run last season. The place got pretty toxic then, there were huge amounts of people calling for Dyche's head, and what happened? Nowt, and we stayed up.

Even if Kev T grew a pair and asked Moshiri or the board for authority to replace Dyche, I genuinely doubt he'd get permission; BUT he must start making a list of possible replacements for the sake of the club. TBF, he probably already has done.

As for the football, I agree, but we all knew what we were going to get when he was hired. He's not a technical specialist, he is a nuts and bolts, work harder and get fitter, work on the basics etc.

Personally I don't give a hoot what Dyche does as long as it keeps Everton in the Prem. Once we stay up and get to BMD, with new ownership hopefully, then we should dismiss him immediately with our thanks; if he hasn't already been asked to go by then...

I'm not getting on his back too much, as you've got to put things in perspective. We haven't got out first string defence playing. He's trying to work out the best midfield, and playing Tim has been refreshing - though please hook Tim when his legs go Sean...

The thing which sticks in my craw, is his insistence in playing McNeil ALL the flippin' time, even shoving him to #10, when he isn't and never will be a #10! He has NDiaye who is an AM, #10 or LWF, he's got Lindstrøm who is a #10, and we still haven't got a RM/WF yet!

Have I mentioned all the players we keep missing, have we managed to put the same XI out yet, or rather, have we been able to put the same XI out this season?

I understand him playing Harrison in the RW/F, but I think that is to help strengthen the RHS defensively than adding anything to the attack.

Just my opinion, and as they say we've all got one of them and a .... 😏

Bilbao played a terrible first half tonight away against a promoted team, could have been down 1 or 2:0,but was 0:0.

Valverde subbed the weakest player tonight who was Nico Williams at HT, switched from 4231 to 442. First 10 min nothing happened, 3 more subs around min 57. Didn't work out till min 65m with the 1:0, 2nd shot on target and scored. Won the game comfortably 2:0, Inaki who came in scored, another subbed on player assisted the 1:0.

They had the best chance by a post of our own defender + a ruled of set piece goal only in the 2nd half. Taking 5 subs at 0:0 within 63 mins is a risk, always a red or injury can happen. But Dyche ingame management exists.

Our manager is paid more than Dyche tho.
