Not that I don’t believe Dyche won’t do a good job, but it just feels like we’ve wound the clocks back and appointed Moyes.

Knives to a Gunfight?

I have 2 problems with the hiring of Dyche.

1. Is it the direction we really want to go in? As I said before, it’s almost like repeating the appointment of Moyes. Solid manager, who will fix us defensively, it will he be able to kick us on to the next level?
2. Quality of players. I like Sean Dyche, he seems like a consumate professional, a good man but again, linking to number one, how do we attract top quality players? With no disrespect to Dyche, he’s not a big name, or even a known name outside of England.

I hope this Dyche speculation has cured you of your Unsworth phobia. :coffee:

I would get Big Sam in to work with Unsworth till the summer.

Hopefully a good job and potential for Unsworth to take the job fulltime or we can see who is available then. If Silva does a good job at Watford go for him.

Get safe ASAP and blood some youngsters for next season.

I've no doubt he is a fine manager for a scrappy teams of triers. He recruits experienced british or irish players, a strong front man and willing midfield runners. They allow lots of pressure and try to nick a goal. Like Moyes 03/04 team.

Is that what we want?

They finished 16th last year FFS. All very Martinez, this. Worse than Howe who hadn't been mentioned at all this time round but finished 9th with Bournemouth last season.

Would rather take Sam Allardyce and that's saying something.

Where's your ambition Everton!?

But we weren't solid under Koeman. Or organised in any way, shape or form.

No, and it's right he's gone. But I'm sure if he was still manager we'd be "ok"

Dyche comes in, makes us solid, we're still no better than "ok".

To me he just screams small time.

Also, how come Pardew isn't in the mix if Dyche is "the one"? Has a better CV. (I don't want him btw I'm just making an argument)
