I think Dyche would make sensible decisions if he became our manager. I foresee pretty boring football up until January (defending the point and anything else is a bonus) and then some sensible but not worldbeating signings in January.

I think it would all be a bit stale and boring, but that’s probably what we need right now

When Dyche took over at Burnley they looked certain to be relegated to League One, just as we look certain to be relegated to the Championship. Now Burnley are just 3 points behind Chelsea after over a quarter of the season has been played!

As much as I like the idea of Tuchel, I think we need someone who knows the Premier League and who can get points on the board post-haste. In a few weeks we could be several points adrift of 17th.

Pulis, Howe, Pardew, Big Sam.

All better than Dyche.

He brought them so he'd have a better understanding. The problem was the money he spent and the output which is totally unacceptable. But I still think he'd string a few wins together.

The problem was the money spent on all the wrong positions and crap players. Take the £70m for Sigurdsson and Klaassen. We could quite easily have done without either of them, and put the money towards a centre back and centre forward and we'd have been no worse, or probably even significantly better. Koeman assembled this squad and had absolutely no clue what to do with them.

However, another source has told Sky Sports News that any approach for Dyche is not imminent, with caretaker boss David Unsworth expected to be in charge for the upcoming matches against Lyon and Watford.

I can understand the lack of urgency.

I mean, it's not like we have the most unbalanced squad in the league and are in the bottom two or anything!!

This is like the days of when Moyes joined, no strikers or defence, running around a pitch after the ball like a u10s match.

When we do get the ball and get it up to box we pass it around with no idea what to do next untill we lose it then get stung on the counter

I'm guessing Burnley don't have a director of football and that Kenwright sees Dyche as a young Davy Moyes.

Not sure what that means for "the project".

If it means it's finished then Moshiri has just hired two clowns and watched them blow our one big payday/warchest.

It's really up to Moshiri now to fund the rebuilding of the squad since it was his decisions that has ultimately left us in this mess. I certainly hope the plan isn't to hire Dyche and then be sell to buy for the next decade. Primarily because we have very little we can sell.

That said Dyche has done a good job at Burnley so deserves the chance.

Bit silly then to hire Moyes-lite when the real deal is available

Dyche looks like the bad news story that goes before the only marginally better news story of the real new manager. This is all about expectation management.

I'd expect an appointment that's something in between Dyche/Alardyce and Tuchel/Mancini in terms of acceptability.

What I hate is getting a manager who is on a good run currently. It makes no logical sense at all why dyche should be favourite for this job because they are currently doing well. Eddie Howe would be more suited to this job than dyche but I wouldn't want either of them.
