An important read for England fans, it's actually quite a good read from a very good journo. So easy to get swept up in a tide of empty euphoria
It's a good read. Brutal to read I reckon for some.

Or we always accepted there were weaknesses and just didn’t care and enjoyed the fun for a change? Not sure folks have made it to acceptance yet. Still thinking they are somewhere around denial and anger in the five steps of grief.
“None of that is to try and suck the fun from a besieged nation that badly needed it across the last three weeks.”
Could have fooled me lol
Seriously even if it was all empty euphoria, what on earth is wrong with it? The world is a pretty much an unrelenting pit of bad news at the moment, a lot of us got enjoyment out of the past few weeks looking at the things we found fun about something.
I for one am glad I didn't spend it worrying and whingeing about the midfield weaknesses, John Stones defensive brain farts, Sterlings lack of finishing, the quality of our opponents as the only thing it would have changed is my own personal happiness and not a scrap of difference to what happened on the pitch.
And I badly needed that feeling of falling back in love with a team especially after an Everton season whose deficiencies being impossible to ignore and quite frankly depressed the hell out of me.
lol Still got the English accent thoughTime for you to go home, you're becoming more American by the day... xx

Did you spend all the time of the USA run in Brazil focussing on all that could go wrong and the team definicies? Or did you just enjoy it including all the meme about Howard’s defending?
Soz LL...I played nice when the wound was freshest.
You watch how you address my Queen boy.
