Semifinals: Croatia vs England

Two semifinals in 26 years ain't too shabby for a nation of a little over 4 million people.

Croats are generally very gifted at sports. Won 5 gold medals at the last Olympics, produce great NBA players, won the davis cup, won the world cup's for handball, water polo, basketball so incredible respect for a nation like them.

Eh? I know I've been drunk for most of this world cup, but I don't remember them beating Belgium.

Croatia are too knackered. They could barely run at the end of the Russia game.

England deffo in the final...BEL-FRA too close to call, but whoever wins that will beat England.

Pfff. I hope players dont read the news about Brexit, resignations etc. This young team is quite sympathetic, unlike the government in charge. They need all positive messages possible.

So excited about this, like really excited, even more so then when Everton got to the last semi final or the final against Chelsea. Weird really as since 86 ive not really been to bothered about England, but I think because they havent got any easy to dislike players, such as Terry, Lampard and Gerrard, im well behind them, add to that i always expect Everton to lose anyway, I cant wait fo the game

They don't care. I agree. Wasn't this the story between tensions with England and Russia regarding the the Novichok poisoning?

Russia knows how bad it would look if an English player had something not even remotely as bad happen to them or they were targeted in any political sort of action.

And on the English side it would look awful if they couldn't even protect players.

I can see the other side, but in my opinion, no one wants that situation to even remotely be played out. It's sad, but the Olympics, and World Cup seem to be when humanity finally see the other side as human.

Vrsaljko being out hurts. No idea how Vida will fare out wide and Čorluka is going to have his (old) hands full. I desperately want to see Croatia in a final but I'm not counting on it.

Croatia was established as a kingdom in 925. The place you live in was a swamp for 800 years after that. You aspire to be jarg Italians rather than the jarg russians you currently are.

I know you're not Croatian, which is exactly why I pointed out the irony of someone who lives in a place that was inhabited solely by mosquitoes for the majority of the recent past denigrating a culture that's existed for centuries.

It's also why I was pointing out the irony of someone in the USA claiming a nationality under the control of another country were jarg Italians given your government is in the pockets of the russians.
